2018 Summer Update

@mypaymentstest

The Summer Update seems to suggest some changes for FileExchange.

My question is specifically with the fields...

*ReturnsAcceptedOption
ReturnsWithinOption
ShippingCostPaidByOption
RefundOption

Do these fields stay the same or is the text 'Domestic' prepended to the above field names?

Will there be new fields?

InternationalReturnsAcceptedOption
InternationalReturnsWithinOption
InternationalShippingCostPaidByOption
InternationalRefundOption

Or are these fields only available to members who use Business policies?

A seperate member's post was answered, by you, with some new undocumented FileExchange field names. Can we expect revisions to the FileExchange Advanced Instructions soon?

@dollybeauty - Thank you for posting this. These are all great questions.

The headers that you stated appears to be what our system will recognize.

InternationalReturnsAcceptedOption
InternationalReturnsWithinOption
InternationalShippingCostPaidByOption
InternationalRefundOption

If sellers are opted into eBay Business Policies, they can create a Return Policy for Domestic and International returns. If any seller isn't opted into the Business Policies, the headers you state would likely be the headers that are valid.

As for documentation of changes to our File Exchange user guides. Work is still being put into getting the user guide up to date.

I'm sorry to say that no details or updates of when this will be completed.

Hope this give you some insight on what is happening with File Exchange and changes to our site.

Sincerely,

Re: 2018 Summer Update

I use FileExchange daily. What part is unusable?

Re: 2018 Summer Update

the part of the shipping services, domestic and international.
The names of services have been changed, and now it's not possible to know the actual ones because those on instructions are dated back to 2015.

If you create one listing using the Advanced listing form (online), you can see the current list of valid services for your home site. While there are some new ones, the old are still valid, as listed in the AdvancedInstructions for FileExchange.

au-instructions.JPGau-listing.JPG

Here there are 2 screenshots, 1 from the FileExchange instructions, another from the listing publishing template.

As you can see, (in this example for ebay.com.au) the shipping methods are totally different between instructions and actual services that can be selected.

Thus, If I want to use one of the new services that are not present in the instructions, how do I have to write them?

There's no indication of that, anywhere...

And this is the same for all ebay websites, an incredible lack of information

Re: 2018 Summer Update

@eeemarket

Part of the problem is cross-border listing.  You and your items are in Italy, so the shipping must be stated in relation to Italy.  Yet your Listing Form screenshot shows shipping from Australia because you are listing on the AU site.  In File Exchange, your Item Location would state Italy.

You won't be using anything that looks like AU Post or China Post because you will be using Poste Italiane.

The AU domestic shipping options would be:

  • AU_EconomyDeliveryFromOutsideAU
  • AU_StandardDeliveryFromOutsideAU
  • AU_ExpeditedDeliveryFromOutsideAU

Your AU international options might be:

  • AU_SeaMailInternational
  • AU_StandardInternational
  • AU_ExpeditedInternational

Or perhaps the International shipping will be:

  • IT_OtherInternational
  • IT_StandardInternational
  • IT_ExpeditedInternational

I'm not sure how the international shipping should be treated. Perhaps @mypaymentstest  can clarify.

@shipscript - You're correct in that if you are listing on a specific site such as eBay AU, you can only use AU shipping services, you can't select another site shipping service.

AU shipping services will need to be set for Domestic and International.

To visualize this, create a listing using the online selling process for the specific site and you'll see that the site specific shipping services is only available to be used.
