the seller provided wrong return address on purpose

hello. i need some assistance

i have bought a very expensive item which arrived way too late because of covid19. i let the seller know that i dont need it and he told me to open a return request. i did and he accepted my return and provided return address which is not legit

he is from taiwan and hes been on ebay for more than 10 years. i let him know that return address is inroccect yet hes not replying and my return time is running out

how should i proceed? the item just will not be delivered since there is NO such country

the seller is from TAIWAN
and his return address is something like "street address + house" TAINAN + zipcode

it was an international sale and I have no way of returning an item to a place that does NOT exist

i looked close an it appears that tainan is a city in taiwan country

but still

there is no country where i should return the item in return address

Did you open a case through ebay and the label was issued through that? If so then that is the address on file and you are protected as long as you use that label. If the seller sent you this label outside of a case how do you know that is an incorrect address? I'm assuming TAINAN was meant to be TAIWAN and if that is the only issue and the zip is correct the package should get there. FYI if you haven't opened a case through ebay then you are running a big chance of the seller issuing you a refund.

the reason for return is arrived too late and i have to pay for shipping

there is no return label provided by the seller

if the item was INAD the seller still would not be able to send a lavel because it is overseas sale

FYI if you haven't opened a case through ebay then you are running a big chance of the seller issuing you a refund.

If you were unable to open a case through ebay and are just dealing directly with seller then you have no guarantee that the seller will refund you or that address is correct especially in an international sale. If I'm misunderstanding and you requested a return through ebay make sure to upload that return tracking number into the case.

but the issue is i have to pay for shipping and shipping address seems to be dodgy

Returning the item will take a long time. I am wondering if it arrives, will you still have the ebay MBG. If the case times out, you won't get the refund.

Whenever you buy from China or Taiwan, the shipping will take a long time both ways.  If the shipping is going to cost you a lot, it might not be worth returning.

Can you resell the item?
