I ordered three items and received one incorrect item in their place. I messaged the seller, as when I went to begin a return I could only chose one item to return instead of all three, and explained my problem. The seller called me and I missed it, so he left a message asking me to call him back. I wasn't sure if I should call back or not or keep all communication through ebay? any tips?

Your answer here would depend upon the way this was listed in the first place.
For instance, were these three items all part of just one listing? Like 3 pairs of socks?
Or were you purchasing three separate items from three separate listings?
If it was scenario #1, then you need to open an item not as described case.
If scenario #2, then you would open an item not received case for the one item you did not receive.

thank you for your help! In this case it was three separate items in three separate listings that the seller was supposed to ship together, but i didn't receive any of the three items. Should I chose item not received for all of them?

It sounds like the seller sent you something, so the seller will have a 'Delivered' scan. If that is correct, do not open an Item Not Received claim. Open three separate Return requests, citing 'Doesn't match description or photos'.

Side note.. Because I can't answer your original issue...... It's ALWAYS in your best interest to keep all communication in the messages of eBay. You can't prove a thing if you go outside. You can always call eBay support too.. They're sometimes hard to understand, but they are usually pretty helpful and they will note your account so that there is another paper trail of the issue.

You're very welcome, @reeeme_pn30ew! Yes, do not call your seller, as there's no proof of what was said.
When you open 3 return requests, you will get 3 return labels. What will you return with the other 2 labels?

i actually ended up chatting with ebay support and they were very helpful. They helped me open return tickets a certain way and said they'd take care of it. I'm just waiting on the seller at this point.

Glad to hear you've apparently resolved your issue. But would like to respectfully point out that it's a lot more helpful if you give the correct details in your first post. Your first message implies that you DID receive something. Later on, your message sounds like you did not receive anything at all. Over a few further messages, it seems like you received one item that is not any of the three you ordered. Would have been good to clarify that early in the game.
