Hi. I recently ordered a large item, which when it arrived it was the wrong colour. I contacted the seller, who agreed this was the case and has arranged to send out another item in the right colour. However, as I am at present using crutches and the item is too heavy for me to get to a post office, I wrote and explained to the seller, and asked if they would arrange to pick the item up from my address. They say they don't arrange pick ups and I'd have to organise this myself. Am I wrong in thinking that as the mistake is down to them, it's their responsibility to organise a pick up from me, rather than me having to go through the hassle of organising it to be returned to them?

USPS will pick up packages at your house. You don't have to go to the PO.

This is the time to ask your neighbor, friend or family member if they can help you by dropping off the box at the post office incase your postal system doesn't allow a pickup. Ebay policy makes it the responsibility for the buyer to return the package once they get a shipping label from the seller. I hope that you get well soon.
Have you considered leaving a note for your carrier and asking them if they can take the box off your hands due to your injury? My carrier is a sweetheart and I know that she would do that me in a heartbeat.

No but you CAN EXPECT the seller to send the correct colour, undamaged item in the first place.
Why on earth should the buyer be expected to run around and repost a large heavy item because the seller is a tool?

You are 2 years late responding to this thread from November 2022.
If the buyer wants to return a heavy item, its on them to return it not the seller.

As you are also in the UK you must know that RM will pick up. No need to run around.
