I purchased a set of forks and triple trees for my Harley, The shop mixed up the shipping and sent my forks to someone in Idaho, then they shipped me this guy's forks instead. The issue is they are not taking responsibility and handling this issue. They want me to ship the guy his forks and have that guy send me mine. The problem with that is I've already sent the guy his forks, but he hasn't even shipped mine out. However the shop is asking me to cancel the return claim I started with eBay, which I feel is **bleep** because what happens if I don't get my forks? This has been a really crappy experience an truthfully I'm not sure if I will do business again with these guys.

Do NOT cancel your claim..
This is a mess and your seller did it wrong.
They should have had you both return to them (the seller), seller paid shipping and they should have refunded you and then you both repurchase.
Who paid for your shipping to send the forks to the other buyer?
I hope seller paid, you keep that claim open, I hope it was Not as Described.
If you don't get your forks or refund you escalate your case, use the tracking you have for sending the package to the other buyer, in the claim. That should show delivery and the case should close in your favor.
SAVE all the messages between you and the seller, eBay can read these if needed.

NO NO NO Do NOT close that case. You can never reopen it if you do.

Sorry, but you probably won't be getting your item, but the other buyer got a free item you paid for.
Never agree to fix the sellers problem.
You should have returned the item to the seller for a refund.
Don't close the case, but I'm not sure if there's anything you can do since you don't have nothing to return now.

The seller should have sent out the correct item the second time and not make a buyer ship to another buyer.
The seller can send a shipping label for you to return to seller.
Some sellers don't even ask for a return and give a refund.
A seller who makes a mistake should also give a refund if item not delivered.
Claim should not be closed...and I would probably not respond to seller's emails anymore.

"They want me to ship the guy his forks and have that guy send me mine."
The seller asked you to do what? Are you kidding me?
In an effort to protect all buyers, ebay forces most sellers to take it on the chin with no questions asked.
This is one instance where I believe an experienced CS rep should investigate the action(s) of this seller.
Talk about a BBE.
As kensgiftshop observed, you do not have anything to return for a refund.
I am so sorry this happened.

They might not have anything to return now but they actually did return the forks to the address the seller provided, the other buyer.
I think they could use that tracking number..

This happened to me once, but I got the better end of the deal. I bought a $10 item from a seller and instead of my item, I received a Mint in Box Star Wars X Wing from the 70's worth way more than my $10 item.
I contacted the seller and they were so appreciative that I didnt try to mess them over by keeping it (someone else had bought it), they paid for the return shipping, refunded my $10 AND sent me my item.
Sure I could of kept the X Wing, but I wanted to be honest.

Yes I have the tracking number, I think I will send that information to eBay and let them handle this business with that clown from here on out. Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions .

If you go this route do NOT file "I did not receive item" file "did not match listing", enter the tracking number for the label your seller gave you into the case.
