Returns & Refunds

I can't believe this is happening. A little over two weeks ago buyer X purchased a spa mini water jet from me. Photo in listingPhoto in listing It was the last one I had listed. No problem. Shortly thereafter, while doing some inventory updating I came across four more of the exact same water jets.  Using the sell similar option I listed those four.  Then about ten days ago buyer X purchases those four. Okay, great. Then buyer X starts a return of those four. Buyer X states, "It s my mistake. I need jets that are this size, but they should have a small nub on the inside of the ring that locks into place on the spa." My policy is that I do not accept returns. However, I made an exception in this case and agreed to refund upon receiving the four water jets he mistakenly ordered. The following photos are of the single water jet that was returned. DSCN0133.JPGDSCN0134.JPG Clearly not correct and used. So, I asked eBay to step in, not aware that I was really stepping in it by doing so. Shortly after I received a message from eBay stating, "We'd previously contacted you about a case that Buyer X has asked eBay Customer Service to review and make a final decision." What?! I then go back to look at the case details and now the reason for the return is that it did not match the item description. Before I can finish another unrelated task I receive another email from eBay stating they had decided in buyer X's favor and that, "We understand that you received your item in a different condition than when you shipped it, but unfortunately we couldn't determine that this was caused by the buyer, or that this was something in the buyer's control." eBay had the exact same photos as seen here to base their decision on. They can't determine that this was caused by the buyer or was something under his/her control! Are you kidding me?! Lastly, eBay is giving the buyer a full refund including shipping both to and from which they will take from me. This is unbelievable! I had no idea that ignorance at such a high level existed. Or perhaps eBay is now involved in committing fraud through the USPS. Yes, I can file an appeal if I have new information to share. eBay says to do so I should find this case under those that have been closed without seller resolution! Some of you will know how damning that tag can be.  As far as I can see they have all the info that exists including the two photos of what was returned to me. Any ideas as to what I can use in an appeal?

I have never filed an appeal so can't help you there. Others might be able to.

If it were me, I would plead my case thru eBay for business on Facebook or Ask EBay on Twitter. Both thru direct messaging. I would be hoping for a courtesy refund from eBay.

Keep it as short as possible, using paragraphs with a open line in between each paragraph for easy reading and referral by the reader.

When something like happens, it's better for the seller to go ahead and refund the buyer.

When you get Ebay involved before the buyer is refunded, they'll give you a defect.

File mail fraud and a police report, then use those reports to appeal the case.

Since Ebay had to refund the buyer, don't know if it'll do any good now or not?

Have A Great Day.

I had similar circumstance when EBay refunded Buyer Full Price plus Shipping costs but Buyer refused to answer request to have item returned

Open dispute with Ebay because item not returned.

They apparently care little about Sellers just Buyers.

My only recourse is to file a Police Report which will do little or no goid.

Ebay should be reported to Consumer Trade Commission for assisting Buyers to what amounts to stealing.
