Returning item for refund

Need guidance... requested return from ebay. They approved and sent email stating I needed to return the item. After printing shipping label i tried to enter track # in system. Received message that # wasn't recognized. Asked for help from virtual assistant and was told I didn't need to return the item and refund was being processed.... help me understand... item was missing parts when i received it.

Seller does not want the item back because shipping is costing them too much, that's the message from virtual assistant 

 

Are you sure you received a label? You can always wait till the last day possible

You wouldn't have been able to print a label if a return wasn't required so its odd that they said that.   The way that I understand it, if the label is printed through ebay it isn't necessary to enter tracking, they will already have that information.

This is how I understand it as well. And I suppose virtual assistant can be as wrong as phone-in C/S. Hmmm...

Since you have the label, go ahead and return it just to be safe. That's my kneejerk reaction, anyway.

Does anyone have an actual customer service number to call? I’d rather speak to someone telling me not to return it

No there isn't a specific number to call. You would have to click on help and contact at the top and go through the process to find a 'call me back' option.  Or you could contact cs on facebook or twitter by sending them a message on those sites.  I don't think they will  only work during business hours.

Well, that's probably what you'll get (someone telling you not to return it) if you call C/S. Then later, after the eBay-generated label doesn't get a return delivery scan... I fear the case will close and you'll get no refund. ðŸ˜‘

 

Out of curiosity, which do you want? A refund or the item you wanted to return in the first place? I'm confused...

I want to return it since it is missing the cleaning attachments ( carpet/upholstery cleaner), which the seller confirmed were in the box BEFORE I purchased.

If that page at eBay is still asking for a return tracking number @doug-1346 and you haven't received a refund yet

-- a refund will appear within 1 second next to your item, now at the bottom of your Purchases page --

add a digit zero before your tracking number, e.g. for 12345, upload 012345 instead.
