Return

Hello

I received an item that was not the same as provided in the listing. The seller excepted my request to return the item for a refund but provided a separate UPS label other than the one provided by EBAY. I returned the item using the label. Upon checking the status of the return i see that the seller address provided on the shipping label is invalid and that seller has moved. According to UPS the package will not be returned to me but discarded.

How do I get my money back for this item ??

thx

Curtis

Re: Return

You messed up when you used a different label then the one eBay provided you with.

If the item comes back to you and you still have access to the label that eBay provided you with then send it back with that label.

If not then you screwed up but will maybe get the item back but not a refund.

Ooops just checked the tracking number better and it shows this:

The package is undeliverable and is in the process of being disposed of according to the local guidelines.

Guess you are out the money for sending it with a different label then the eBay provided one.

If the seller sent the label through ebay, you should be able to appeal by showing that you used the label provided by the seller.

According to tracking, it appears that the delivery address is vacant.

Re: Return

That may or may not work or eBay may wonder why they didn't use the eBay provided label

Re: Return

Similar problem here. My seller sent me a picture of the USPS looking return label to the return handling facility. I placed the label on the return package and USPS picked it up from my mailbox as usual. I assumed the issue was resolved. About two weeks later eBay reminds me to ship my return. This is where I discovered the seller provided a fake USPS label. The tracking number on the label was not valid. I assume USPS has discarded my return shipping because it did not have a paid valid USPS label on it. I contacted the seller about the imitation forgery of USPS label. The seller from China provided a new USPS label at lowest cost to a new address close to me and low 5oz weight. I think they just picked a random address to save on return cost. I paid $12 for my item and they do not want it to be shipped back to China. Technically, this seller did not provide the shipping label during the time it required to do so. The seller provided a picture that could be mistaken for a shipping label but it was not a true shipping label. eBay should just refund me when the time for providing a return shipping label has passed.

Our Federal Law about faking USPS labels: Using counterfeit postage is a violation of federal law, prosecuted by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Penalties can include substantial fines (up to $5,000 or more) and up to five years in federal prison. The USPS uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analysis to identify and intercept fraudulent labels. Beyond criminal charges, users of fake labels may have their shipping accounts shut down, lose mailing privileges, and have their packages seized. I read it as: US Federal Law can prosecute me because eBay seller from China made me use a fake USPS label.
