Return Approved without Me Approving It.

A woman bought an item from me and wanted to return it.  Reason, IT DOES NOT FIT.  Ebay sent the standard form that read, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ACCEPT THIS RETURN.  This was NOT a NOT AS DESCRIBED Return.  The return form at the bottom had a selection SEND BUYER A MESSAGE.  I marked it and sent the lady a message.  Next thing i knew - I had accepted the return, even though I did not mark the form ACCEPT RETURN.  This was Not a Not As Described, where you are forced to take the return.  I called Ebay to find out what is going on - Keep in mind that I have been selling non stop on Ebay for over 21 years.  Talked to the Rep who told me that Now it is automatic.  If you have the choice to Refuse the Return, don't make the mistake that I did.  Don't communicate with the Buyer in any way on the form, or you will be Accepting the Return of the Item.

If you accept returns regardless of buyer or seller pays and the return is within 30 days it's forced acceptance anyways.

You can't deny it, even if it's buyer's remorse. The only time you can actually deny a return is if you do not offer returns and they are trying to do buyer's remorse.

But if you deny buyer's remorse and you offer returns that = INAD for return policy violation.

I'm not sure if you accidently clicked on something, all my returns are automatically set up, so I don't know.

All of my listings, both in my Return Policy, as well as in the Description of every items, it reads NO RETURNS.  In over 21 years of selling, I have never seen anything like this, or have had it happen that when you mark send the buyer a message on the form, you are automatically accepting a return.  I did not know this till I noticed I had accepted the return - WHEN I HADN'T, and then I called Ebay who told me that Now it is automatic, when you mark send the buyer a message, your accepting the return.  I won't be sending buyers a message any more, but it would have been nice if Ebay would have informed sellers before doing this.
