I returned an item to a Buyer, and eBay notified me on 8 August that a full refund would issue within 3-5 working days. I have still not received it. I emailed eBay a couple of times about this, but have received no response.
Yesterday I contacted eBay Customer Services, who assured me I would receive the refund within 14 working days - rather longer than I was oroginally told. I am worried that eBay will assume that I have recieved the funds, and will close the case.
I should be grateful for advice on what I should do.
Many thanks.

You did open a return case with eBay, correct?
Within the return case, you should see the carrier tracking for the package. Does it say Delivered?
If so, the seller has 2 business days after the delivery date to issue a refund.
After 2 business days, if you have not received your refund, there should be an "ask eBay to step in" option.
Select that option.
What exactly are you seeing within your return case?
If there is not a open return case, then you have a problem.

Yes, I opened a case with eBay, who confirmed on 8 August that a refund had been authorised, and I would received it within 3-5 working days - but I am still waiting ...

You returned an item to a seller. Is there tracking showing that the item has arrived at the seller's address.

After you returned the item to the Buyer @belgianchox you only have 10 days to get a refund, if the deadline has passed.
Ask eBay to step in If the seller hasn't responded or hasn't issued a refund by the refund deadline, or if the buyer and seller can't reach a resolution, either party can ask us to step in and help. | Earliest:
Latest:
eBay may hold the return request open for up to 35 business days after the date the return was accepted. |
You are rapidly running out of time. And that second promise of 14 working days sounds completely wrong.
Instead, leave a PRIVATE message here for eBay on Facebook, to explain that return tracking was delivered and to revert your refund now.

Yes. I opened a case with eBay, who confirmed the item had been received back by the Seller (and, in fact, it's up for sale again) and that they (eBay) had authorised a refund, which I should receive within 3-5 working days . This was on 8 August.
I have not yet received the refund and emailed eBay a couple of times; they did not reply. EBay's Customer Services confirmed yesterday when I contacted them, that it would take 14 working days for me to receive the refund. This contradicts what they said earlier.
I am just worried that I won't receive my refund (which was not pennies).

Hi @belgianchox
Once you receive a notification from eBay that you’ve been refunded … eBay will process the refund within 48 hours.
The rest of the time will be taken by the bank that issued your credit card. Some take up to a month to process the refund on their end.
In other words, there are TWO companies that process your refund … and eBay is only one of them.
You can always contact your credit card company to ask if a refund is pending.
