I purchased 4 phones in anticipation of an office expansion. I made the mistake of shelving the box when it arrived, and just opened it this week, 6 mos later, when the phone tech came to expand my phone system. I had received completely different phones than had been pictured by the seller and the ones I received are too old to be compatible. I sent a message to the seller but have not heard back. Do I have any recourse?

None through ebay.
6 mos through Paypal if you paid that way
Otherwise, contact credit card company if you used one.

How did you pay??
Try that for relief...
6 months??
Also I don't believe any one would do as you say by the way.... Could: but very abnormality....
If so, well expensive way to learn.

Always inspect purchases as soon as they arrive. Seller could have mixed up the packages. It happens now and then. Paypal allows 6 months from date of order to file a case. Credit cards often allow longer. You might have an issue with waiting so long however.

eBay - 30 days
PayPal - 6 months
VISA /MC Cardholders have 120 days to file a chargeback for issues related to:
The time limit for MasterCard chargebacks drops down to 45 days for:
A lot of people on these boards say that CC chargeback times are longer than PayPal but this isn't the case.

Do you really thing you are owed anything? Put yourself in the sellers shoes and then re-read what you wrote.

This here is the bottom line.
"Do I have any recourse?" Realistically, you are not entitled to any.

You need to inspect your upon arrival!
Honestly, complaining 6 months later would bring up lots of red flags.
You could use expensive items for months and simply blame the seller right before the window closed.
I am not saying you would do that, but many would and do in other circumstances.
I sold a used Polycom teleconferencing unit several years ago here, good item at the time.
Got a mail a few months later stating that lightning had struck their building and it was not working right.
He was nice about it, but it was not my bad. I am not a warranty house.
If they are business phones cant you write them off and move on?
