I accepted a return and purchased the return label through ebay. the package made it all the way to my zipcode only to say "Addressee Unknown." i contacted ebay for a copy of the label , at the very least, that they sent to the buyer and they say they cannot provide the copy. whats the point of using their service if they minimally cannot even keep record? I am currently waiting on a call back from the post office to figure out my possible options. i've been selling on here for 10+ years and the company just keeps growing more incompetent. it is ridiculous and i am at whits end. where can i go from here?

The eBay issued return label will have the return address entered in your account details. You can find that here.
If the return address on that page looks good, then call your post office to find out what the label says and why it's marked as addressee unknown. If you live in an apartment building it could be that your name fell off the mailbox and the substitute carrier on duty didn't know which name(s) correspond with that address so they RTS. I've seen that issue a thousand times.
Another possibility is that the buyer didn't use the eBay-supplied return label, or that they used it and doctored the address. You need to speak with the post office to find out what's happening before they RTS.

I've been to Whits End. There's a food truck selling pretty good tofu burritos and kombucha. From there, I went and jumped off of the cliff. It's only 3 feet down, but the bottom is all rocks.
eBay absolutely can see the USPS Return Service label issued to the buyer. As a buyer, eBay has sent a another copy of the label via eBay Messages when I couldn't see it on the Return Details page.

Did you try to contact with the post office to see what's wrong with your address?

after speaking with the buyer i found out tha he did not use the ebay supplied label but ebay could not/did not supply me with that information and he left out my apartment number. after a 2 hr wait for a call back with the post office i was lucky enough to have my package stopped at my post office. i was able to pick it the following day. ty for your help. but i still feel like ebay should of filled that blank in from the beginning, especially for what their rising charges in fees.
