Not as Described Deadline

Hi,

So a buyer recently requested a return claiming "not as described" (i believe fraudulently, since i tested the device before shipping).

It was delivered almost 2 months ago.

Is there a deadline after which customer can't make that request? How long is it? Or will I have to accept the return?

Thanks

Re: Not as Described Deadline

In my experience ebay money back guarantee limit is 30 days plus minus 1 or 2 from delivery.  Customers can still request a return but you dont have to accept it.  Id ask an agent before declining just to be sure though

Re: Not as Described Deadline

eBay has a limit of 30 days from expected or actual delivery date.

You can accept return or deny this return request, however buyer can open a charge back as INAD case with their Bank, credit card or Pay Pal within 180 days of making payment and these organisations do not give you the option of accepting or denying the return and they simply require your buyer to return the item using a tracked service and when tracking shows item is delivered they issue a refund to buyer and debit your account.

If you accept an out of time return from your buyer then you get your final value fees back from eBay.

If refund is issued after charge back then to best of my knowledge you do not get your final vale fees back from eBay.

Hope this gives you enough information to make a decision that best suits you.

On Ebay, the buyer has 30 days to file an INAD.

If they used Pay Pal, they have 180 days and same with most credit cards.

Have a great day.

If they do a chargeback on the CC, do I get funds taken from me even if I am out of the protection deadline?

The customer didn't use PayPal.

Thanks

Re: Not as Described Deadline

Irrespective of buyers payment method 180 days rule applies and if buyers claims a charge back then your funds will be put on hold in managed payments or Pay pal.

If case is closed in favour of your buyer then these held funds will be used to pay your buyers.

if case is closed in your favour then these held funds will be released  to you.

If you do not have any funds in manage payments or Pay pal and case is closed in buyers favour then they will debit your credit card  or Bank account .

Hope this helps.

Yes, if their credit card finds in favor of the buyer, the funds will come out or your account.

Plus, they'll charge you an extra $20.

Have a great day.
