Initiated return

Hi,

I purchased an item, it was shipped to me via eBay International Shipping. The item is faulty. I asked the seller if he can refund and I keep the item. He just responded that first I have to initiate return and the we will see. So I initiated return hoping that seller and me will be able to agree on refund and I keep the item. Unfortunately, the return process is very automated and there is no such option. Instead I got DHL shipping label which I should print and ship the item.

Now I have a shipping label. When will DHL come to my address? I'm not at home this and another week, can't prepare the shipment.

Can I cancel the return? Will I be able to open it again later for the same item?

If this was an EIS purchase, you are dealing directly with an eBay affiliate, not the actual seller from the US.

EBay handles all returns for EIS and will expect the item to be returned.

You can message with the seller from the US but will be dealing with eBay. The US seller is out of the loop at this point.

I expect that you should have time to return and get the item in the mail. I don't know if eBay pays for a pickup.

Do not cancel your return. It cannot be reopened.

Try once again communicating from within the return case if possible. Most buyers and sellers here are unfamiliar with exactly how the return process for EIS works.

Don't know anything about DHL, but you might be able to call and arrange a pickup.

Since it was shipped EIS, the seller doesn't have anything to do with refunds/returns, that's all handled by Ebay.

How long did they give you to get the item shipped back?

If you close the return, you will not be able to start another one.

Have a great day.

Since you will be dealing with eBay...I would doubt you get to keep the item and get a refund.

"item is faulty"...if you don't have it yet...how is it faulty?...perhaps you might be using the wrong word...like maybe will not fit or something might be better words to use.

Why are you wanting to 'keep' the item and still get a refund?

What proof would there be that item is actually 'defective' if you don't return it?

DHL doesn't come to you- you go to them.

You'll have X amount of days to 'ship' the item...if you being 'gone' doesn't allow you to do that, sorry to say that is your problem and nobody elses.

You will have to find some way to get the item to DHL before your time to return is up.
