I sold an 18k gold necklace and here was the return message from the eBay authenticator:
* verified that your item is authentic. However, the item's condition doesn't match the listing description. Issues found during inspection include:
my Question is Does this mean it is 18k Gold? I did list that as the type of metal. So I’m confused about how to relist it. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you! Here is the link to the necklace https://www.ebay.com/itm/297586575677?itmmeta=01K4V778BER5XGR4PA3H752R2B&hash=item45498ac93d:g:OMsAA...

Maybe because the whole thing isn't 18k?
First line is about "condition" which doesnt line up with 2nd line.
Is that the whole response?

Perhaps the item has been repaired and the clasp replaced with one which is not 18k.
Such a case would be consistent with the reason for rejection you quoted.

I just had this happen on a 14k white gold necklace and received the exact same message from the authenticator. I didn't understand what that meant either and even looked at sold listings for the same necklace and found some listed the metal as I did, listed differently ,or didn't answer at all. I just decided to keep it for myself as I didn't want to risk listing it again.

Maybe this, in your description caused the confusion.' 18k Gold Italy Damascene Necklace seed of Life Symbol Marked Authentic '
Tho the necklace was stamped, it was not 'marked authentic'.

Yes. That’s what I was wondering, because the pendant isn’t 18k?

That could be it, thanks!
