About a return

A buyer said he didn't received the jeans I sold him, but received another package from another seller & address- wasn't mine. The tracking number shows that the jeans were delivered. And I did a missing package case with USPS and they said they were delivered. He started a refund for them but isn't returning them because he doesn't have them. So do I have to refund him? Thanks.

Re: About a return

If your buyer has opened an Item Not Received claim, simply add the tracking to the case notes. If you can prove delivery, you won't have to refund. Good luck.

Re: About a return

Was the tracking number uploaded to the order details?

Does tracking show you mailed it by your handling time and it shows delivered?

Then you should not have to refund. Just reply to the case please refer to this  tracking # that shows delivered, and provide the number.

Re: About a return

He started a refund for them but isn't returning them because he doesn't have them.

If his claim is Not As Described, he has to return them, or whatever he did get,  before you refund.

You may have to pay for the return shipping.

If he doesn't return them, you pay nothing.

Even if you have a No Returns policy, you can demand the return before refunding.

Re: About a return

You need to call ebay and ask them to read the emails where he admits that he did not get the jeans. Tell ebay that tracking shows that the item was delivered. Ask ebay to close the case in your favor since tracking shows delivered.  The buyer is trying to get his money back.  It's very possible that the jeans were stolen from the porch/hallway but that is not your problem.

Now , ebay should close the case in your favor but it is still possible to the buyer to make a claim through their credit card.  IF you use USPS, go immediately to the www.usps.com  with the tracking number.  There is a new option where for a fee,  the post office will save the tracking information for a additional time.  It's 99cents for either a 3 month extension or a 6 months. There are several fees depending on the time.  Pay the extra 2-3 dollars because buyer has 6 months to make a claim with their insurance company.  So if the information disappears in 3 months, you will lose.  That is why pay for the 6 months or even a year just to be on the safe side.

Make sure that you block this buyer.  Either they are a scammer or live in an area where packages are stolen. You do not want this type of buyer.
