New Item Specifics Jewelry with NO stones has 14 recommended IS all related to WITH stones jewelry. When the "Main Stone" specific is set to "No stone" the (approx.) 14 separate stone related IS fields or selections need to be grayed out and not "recommended" by the system as shown in seller hub.
The new fall update recommended items specifics in the jewelry categories is causing me and others (probably hundreds of thousands of listings) a great deal of grief and waisted time and lack of clarity. I am hoping eBay can get something done about this problem. I have already left feedback on the listing tool pages but have seen no changes and gotten no responses. Is a fix for this in the works? We need to get it on the radar!
The problem comes with jewelry with NO gemstones. There used to be separate categories for precious metal with and without gemstones. That has all now been combined into a single category for most all of the remaining jewelry categories. Now with these changes I can NEVER tell if I am done updating a listing because I don't and should not fill in any of the gemstone related fields! And i don't want to put "N/A" in each one as this created a huge amount of clutter and extra work. Plus I have to wade through 14 or more item specifics ALL of which would never apply if there was no gemstone in the piece. Plus plus, they are not grouped together but spread all throughout the IS section instead of grouped together in a "with stone" section.
There needs to be a toggle that when "Main Stone" specific is set to "No stone", ALL the gemstone and diamond IS fields are not shown and not marked as recommended. They should be greyed out or hidden. I could tell the listing tool "not to remind me again" but even doing that requires going through a lot of extra un-needed busy work. Maybe if the recommended count is exactly 14? But that is just silly and inaccurate. There needs to be an official way to block the stone specifics.
The loss of the "with" and "without" gemstone sub-categories has caused this huge problem and I don't feel it was thought through before it was implemented. How many thousands of jewelry sellers are struggling with or just ignoring other important specifics so they don't have to figure out what color the diamond is in their ring with NO stone? I am strongly suggesting that we get something done about this soon.

Hi @babclassics - I heard back on your suggestion:
Please share with the community that we are working on improving the experience and that we downgraded some Stone aspects to the Optional bucket.
From my conversation with them they definitely understand the desire for 'dependent' specifics (meaning, if No Stone is selected, the other specifics about stones are removed) and are working on building that out. No timeline, but it sounds like they're eager to get it completed and make things simpler for everyone.

We continue to experience issues that I believe are related to the category changes, the most challenging being that we are still not able to edit multi-variation listings. I have asked this question multiple times of multiple people in multiple locations and have not received an answer. Is there any way to know whether multi-variation listings are supported in any of the eBay Motors/Parts & Accessories categories?

Hi @jamsionline - the category team is working on growing the multi-variation support for the Parts & Accessories categories. If you would make a new post here and tag me to let me know exactly which category you're having these issues in I will get that to them!

Hello all,
What is this week's update on the ongoing problem with Khoros being unable to retrieve the poster's avatar, feedback count and item listings from eBay? In particular, what further work (debugging, testing, etc.) has been performed on this since this time last week? Thanks...
No update as of yet @a_c_green. I know Sheila is doing what she can to provide updates here as info becomes available though.
Thanks. On that note, sheila@ebay , is there someone specific who reports to you on progress on this case, or... how does that work?
As you know, this affects everyone on the Community platform (especially those of us trying to help users with problems), and we're here every Wednesday at this same time, so they should be aware that getting you a status by Wednesday morning will be helpful.
This is especially true if they're stuck on something, as there are more than a few IT professionals out here who would be happy to help with troubleshooting or testing if someone behind the eBay/Khoros wall would simply ask for it. This has been going on for far too long with no visible progress; someone there should be asking for help by now, but does not appear to be receiving any.
@a_c_green I work with an Technical Account Manager and the lead Engineer that has been assigned to fix this issue. The Engineer is getting ready for the patch to deploy to the test environment and we're waiting the Engineer to give the Community team the green light to test this.
I know that the speed of resolution isn't ideal and I'm quite frustrated as well. Thank you for your patience.

Hello
I had a question about item specifics for dolls. "Type" will be required soon, so I was hoping perhaps by the time it was required a new choice could be added - currently none of the types apply to the kind of dolls I collect & sell. I'm not actually 100% sure what could be there, but it would help to have something for 1940-1960s hard plastic and vinyl dolls. I went down the list (photo attached) and none of the types apply. They aren't actually play dolls, since mostly they get collected and displayed. Perhaps "collectible" dolls would be possible? Vintage perhaps? Hard plastic and also vinyl?
If not required it won't be an issue - but if required I will struggle.
Thanks for the suggestion @tink012 I'm happy to pass it along! In the meantime please make sure to use the Enter your own field!
Hey @tink012! Jasmen passed your feedback on and they've come back. They were very grateful and hope the below info will help given the frustration you've experienced.
Dolls categories, formerly based on Brand, Material, Theme, Character, Franchise, Product Line and Type of Doll have been retired and collapsed into one category for Dolls & Doll Playsets. To enable a more flexible browsing experience, the former categories have been replaced by left-hand navigation filters in the new Dolls & Doll Playsets category. Please find more information here: https://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/news/categorychanges.html
To better find what you are looking for as a seller (or buyer), I’d suggest to use the item specifics Year Manufactured and select a single value and/or Time Period Manufactured for date ranges, although our ranges are for decades vs. your example 1940-1960s. As a buyer, you can narrow down your search results by using available left-hand navigation filters on any item specific.
Regarding listings for Vinyl or Hard Plastic dolls, these are searchable by applying the item specific Material as Plastic or Vinyl.
Vintage dolls are covered via item specific Vintage by selecting Vintage: Yes.
For older dolls, you can also use the item specific Antique: Yes.
We understand your concern about some dolls being for display rather than for play. However, when manufactured, these dolls were perhaps made as Play Dolls. Please feel free to take advantage of appropriate values under other item specifics to fully describe your listed item as a vintage vinyl doll. If this should not work, the item specific Type is currently available to enter our own Type value as free text.
