watch item button missing in search returns

have noted in some of my saved searches the button to watch an item is now missing....

if you click on the item, then you can add to watch list...

this is a recent change and is inconvenient...

there is now a 'heart' icon, but what does it do????

Programmers,  return the capability of watching an item in the search returns please.

The heart icon can also be used to add the item to your Watch List. If the item is already on your Watch List, the heart icon appears solid.

If no "watch" link or heart appears, the listing may be a multiple variation listing that requires choosing a particular option in order to watch the item.
