reinstalling ebay

You do not 'reinstall' eBay. eBay is made up of many web pages, that your browser requests from the host (eBay). then displays these pages on your computer/device.

The browsers that come with Win 10 are not what most members use. I like FireFox, but many members use and like Chrome.

You should not need to change any settings. FireFox and Chrome are good, right out of the 'box'. You might want to add one addon, called AdBlockPlus, available for FireFox and Chrome.

Google browsers and make your choice.

reinstalling ebay

A buyer emailed me after buying something this morning and so when I click to respond to his message I click the listing title link in the message window so I can see the original listing and reference it and any information in it in my reply but when I click the listing it shows up but the description section is blank and has error message

"Your connection is not secure

The owner of vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website."

The Firefox help pages say

"When Firefox connects to a secure website (the URL begins with "https://"), it must verify that the certificate presented by the website is valid and that the encryption is strong enough to adequately protect your privacy. If the certificate cannot be validated or if the encryption is not strong enough, Firefox will stop the connection to the website and instead show an error page"

When I manually go to the item by typing in

ebay.com/itm/item number

it works then so I think ebay has a bad mess up in there with using secure https on web addresses and need to fix that asap because accessing it without being secure works ok.

Firefox seems to have more problems accessing ebay site but is likely because ebay isn't doing things for full compatibility with it.
