very sluggish the last couple of hours, unable to upload images, access my store - wazzup? Attempts to list items just resulted in "It's Not You, It's US - Ebay server down" message.

It looks like there was a little spike of problem reports around the time your message was posted according to downdetector:

Seems to have subsided now, though.
