ebay and Gmail integration

  Today I logged into my ebay account using my ebay login email address and password.  When I logged out I was logged into my GMAIL!!!! I did NOT log into my gmail, I’ve never used my Gmail to access my ebay account!!! **bleep**!!! I’m so **bleep** that this integration has compromised my security.  Had I not noticed that I was logged into my gmail, it would have been open on the work desktop I was using.  I’ve NEVER used my gmail at work and only logged into my ebay at work once, today!!  I had to manually log out of my Gmail, and delete cookies and history!!   This is such an invasion of privacy, I’m considering never using ebay again!!!!   This integration is garbage, and should be reversed before it leads to more serious breaches!!

Would seem to me that Gmail allowed the sign in......why not blame them?

Right, with no thanks to ebay, any ebay account that is compromised also compromises Gmail!  And this is good how?

Then how can eBay sign you into your Gmail account without Gmail authorization credentials?

They can't. (and no, Facebook, and ebay, and Gmail accounts are not "linked" even when alternate Gmail or Facebook login is used)

You have something else going on like maybe a browser password manager autofilling login forms and autosubmitting.

Absolutely not!  I logged into my ebay on a work workstation, Mac OS high sierra.  I used my ebay credentials, my browser is set to NEVER remember passwords.  When I logged out, I was logged into Gmail.  I’ve never used gmail or logged in at work EVER!  Something is not right, I’m not using a PC or windows btw.
