eBay website crashes

I am using internet Explorer 11, and the eBay website frequently has errors or crashes and reloads.  Do I have to upgrade to IE 12?  If there is not backwards compatibility, that is disappointing; this isn't ancient.  I could use Chrome, but would prefer not to.  Don't have Firefox installed.  And I'm using good 'ol Windows 7 (x64).  And there is no virus on my PC or browser add-on junk.  (In fact, the only toolbar installed is Google, and that is disabled.)

It also disappoints me that eBay doesn't tell us about any browser incompatibilities or requirements.  (And it was hard to find this Technical Issues Forum to provide feedback!)

An example of a specifc problem I encountered when using IE 11 was in listing a product.  One of the drop down selection menus didn't work; it froze, made me reload the page and try again.  Never got past this, and used Chrome.

I do know a bit about web programming and will say that the eBay site does have some pretty slick features, slick-looking programming.  But I have to dump Internet Explorer 11?

Use Firefox. The site seems to work fairly well with it most of the time.

There have been reports of issues with compatibility with IE for several weeks now.  I use chrome and firefox interchangeably with little issue.
