customer service lies, cant talk to anyone that can help

yesterday i called in about my whole account falling by 50% overnight, i cant find my items in search unless i type out the entire title word for word,  i asked to speak to a supervisor.  the supposed (supervisor) had no idea how to answer any of my questions,  and then claimed that he refreshed my account, i was suspicious to say the least.  i just called again and had them check the reference number i was given, no number exists, and they have not done account resets in a long time.  so i guess this is what the new ebay is, its a shame..  all i want is answers.  o well  back to posting on mercari

That may be an indication you have listed in the wrong category.

When you do your initial search, make note of which category the results appear in. That is the category you should list in if you want that item to appear in that particular search.

Re: customer service lies, cant talk to anyone that can help

A lot of your titles are very specific which is why the only way to find it is to be very specific.

I think the "Lego" titles are fine. Everything else...too specific. Although eBay saids to very specific I suggest the opposite to get a bigger audience...selling newspapers...begin the title with "Newspaper...

Selling a jacket..begin the title Jacket....

The Amazing Spiderman....begin the title..."Spiderman

Just thoughts for helping.

When I search spiderman wallet your listing number 195934384930 comes up as #2 in best match search as a promoted listing.

Can you give an example of an item you can't find in search with key words @nerdarsenal ?

Absolutely. Search mega bloks world of warcraft. My listing won't show up, then search mega bloks world of warcraft Colton, it will be at the top of the list. This is just one example.

That's exactly my point, I'm doing my listing per ebay guidelines, always have, why, all of the sudden, that's not the way anymore? Ebay has said nothing about it.

I'm absolutely sure that 99.9% of my listings are in the correct category. But why would that even matter if your searching all categories?

It's not that, it's trying to find certain listings in the ebay search, if I can't find it, in an incognito tab, how can a potential buyer?

Are you certain you are actually searching all categories? If not, the category you list in matters.

Re: customer service lies, cant talk to anyone that can help

This has become more and more of a problem since around 2015, a problem even from a buyers perspective.  I can't find certain items using certain names unless I get so specific that I can't see as many listings as there are with the searched word.  It is the neu world, pretty sure ebay is run and coded by people who have never sold anything or used ebay at all for that matter, it seems like they want their stock to go down, or they want Amazon to take their business.  All of Google and Apple products have gone the same way, look into the world bank report and see the section of what country's use dishonest business practices the most, then see where tech sector employees come from and it should be no surprise, they might have an office in your country, but nobody local works there, say goodbye to honest business, these people have taken over because some office worker saves a few dollars by hiring people from these countries over their own, and the people who are voted in by the people are fine with it.

Which items or names, and how are you searching?

Your listings are #2 and #60 on first page of 456 results. Did not apply any filters (new/used, etc). Did you try your search using a private browsing window? If you search using your own account sometimes your own listings won't show high up in best match results which is by design @nerdarsenal .

Re: customer service lies, cant talk to anyone that can help

They are not items in your listings, I saw this and thought I'd chime in since I have this issue searching for items in general.  Type in "Centaur" with all listings checked, there is no listing in sporting goods or bicycle parts; type in "Campagnolo Centaur" and you get plenty of results, type in "Centaur (Part Name)" and you get results, it makes it a hassle to search, especially if your browsing a subject, type in "54cm" in the search under bicycle frames and there are plenty of results that don't include "54cm", go figure.
