starting in july every time i sign in i get a message plus an email that new sign in activity is happening on my account - same location for over 2 decades , same computer + ip address for over 2 years - called support on 3 separate occasions + typical ebay nothing is being done with the exception of providing lip service + promises!!! -

eBay has begun sending such messages for each sign-in from an unrecognized browser. Unrecognized just means that the browser has no cookies from a previous sign-in to that account, or the IP address does not correspond to a previous sign-in.
I do not think there is a way to disable those messages.
If you are routinely erasing your browser cookies, or changing your network address, you can expect to receive such messages when you sign in again.
Do the browser, location and time correspond to your own sign-in activity? If so, you can ignore the message.
Keep in mind that the location may not be precise; it may correspond to the location of the network rather than your actual location. Browser information may not always be available.
If you do not recognize the location, time or browser, and you suspect that someone else may have gained access to your account, you may want to change your eBay password.

I've left many comments on "what do you think" links regarding this that I wonder if anyone really reads our comments.

still getting the messages after them telling me the problem would be corrected months ago - perhaps they are just doing it to annoy me for having stopped selling when i would not sign up for their intrusive managed payments + other ridiculous policies -

I'd much rather eBay send these messages for account security than stop them because some people find them annoying.
Here's the solution: go to your e-mail account and set up a filter to automatically send e-mails from eBay with that subject line to your trash folder. Your account, your security, your choice.
In lieu of that there's a really handy delete button you can use.

messages being sent are glitches in their programming + have absolutely nothing to do with user security by their own admission -
