Why can't shipping be consistent?

Another example of 2  dueling messages on ebay.......  Expected date of delivery (shown to buyer), estimated date of del shown to seller......

Why can't shipping be consistent?

Are they based on different handling times? I.e., the listing has a handling time of more than 1 day but the label assumes that you're shipping today?  If not, then this is just another example of listings showing erroneously delayed delivery dates; average error is about 7 days. At least you're not alone:

nope..........handling time is one day.  It's the difference from the USPO estimates and Ebays......just another example.....i.e. a different place (this is the shipping page).....as the other complaints about which nothing seems to be done......

I do think all packages should have tracking.  Yes if I can order something from Asia and it provides tracking, I believe England/Europe can too. It's just another way of a bad seller telling a customer they really don't have the advertised item.
