Where to get help with logging in issues?

As the title suggests, I am trying to get help.  I have been unable to log in to my account.  All the so-called help on the site including all the FAQs link me to the log in page, which, surprise surprise, doesn't work so I'm at a dead end.  What I need is a way to speak to someone in English to help me find a solution.  When I try to log in to my UK account I get the message:

"It looks like you signed in from a different computer. We’ll need to confirm your identity.
Call us on XXXX-XXXXXX and mention security code 92618431019."

The problem is, that is not a valid phone number.

Oh, and by the way.   I have been signing in from this same computer for many years, ten at least so something is fishy here.

Re: Where to get help with logging in issues?

I have been battling this problem since 10:15 this morning.  I even had my lunch in front of the monitor.

My sincere condolences to anyone else trying to get help from ebay.

Re: Where to get help with logging in issues?

Does that number work from within the UK? eBay may be noticing that you are actually signing in from a different country and want some assurance that you are not hijacking someone else's UK account.

eBay uses a combination of browser cookies and IP-address info to keep track of whether you have signed in to a particular account on a particular site from a particular network connection before. Deleting your cookies, changing browsers, signing in to a different country site, or changing your network connection can all trigger additional verification. Using a VPN or a hotspot, or certain kinds of privacy software can affect your IP-address and can also trigger additional verification.

If you are unable to sign in to your account or contact eBay from your current country location, try using the "Need help signing in?" link on the page where you are prompted for your password. Choose the "reset" option, but instead of resetting your password, you should see a "contact" link on that page which is specifically for users that are unable to sign in. See if using that allows you to get in touch with eBay.

Same problem, nothing works. Had to use my iPhone or iPad. Cannot change accounts from my computers. Also cannot leave any feedback.

Unless you are trying to sign in to ebay.co.uk and getting the same message as the OP, you may be having a different issue.

What browser are you using? Latest version?

Any difference if you try another browser? Or a private or incognito browser window?

Or if you use a different link to sign in?

Rather than signing out and back in to reach different accounts, you may want to consider using a different browser for each account and then stay signed in to each account if you are experiencing issues signing in.
