Re: What's happened to eBay?

Captcha was invented as a way to introduce Gaslighting to the younger generation.  It apparently worked as thousands of younger sellers have gone bonkers from having to deal with so much change in less than one year.

It's hard enough for seasoned veterans of life to adapt every few months to the new on-line selling rules.  Captcha comes and goes just like the ghosts of distant relatives.  I named it Casper for that reason.

The pattern is inconsistent.  Maybe ebay realized that adding Capcha was too cruel during a pandemic.  I use four computers / phones from three locations.  I am probably the Capcha champion here, having to deal with completing the puzzle on different devices because I sign in using several combinations of location and device sometimes on the same day.

What captcha nonsense? I don't think I've ever seen a captcha screen here. If I have it's been so long ago I don't remember.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

You lucky girl.... I hate the stupid puzzle... I use this laptop 90% of the time... but I use firefox and make it erase my history so every time I signed in for a month or better I had to do the stupid puzzle piece thing... but like the OP it's been gone a week or so and that makes me VERY happy... trying to hold a squirmy 4 month old and slide that stupid piece into the exact spot is difficult.   Just as I get it into place baby grabs the mouse urgggggggg LOL

I hate photobucket right now... PS Answers given years ago may or may not be current now, please check with current posters to the boards to see if the information is still relevant.

My, my, I had forgotten about that kind of thing. My last two were twin girls and my wife worked nights. Fortunately they had two brothers I could hand one or both off to for the 2AM duty. God bless you and your little one.

So far, so good with the Captcha thing. Using a VPN makes one a prime candidate for the login nonsense. I'm quite surprised it still seems to be off for now. Probably should have kept my mouth shut; one of the "blues" will see this and "fix" it.

Re: What's happened to eBay?

I have gotten that CAPCHA (not the puzzle one, the "find the traffic signals/taxi/bikes/crosswalks" one) every day for the past month.  Getting tired of it.

Re: What's happened to eBay?

How come it is always "check the boxes that have a STOP LIGHT in them" (or whatever other dumb "are you not a robot" question" they can dream up?   and NOT "hey...choose ALL the boxes that have PAMELA ANDERSON in them"  (at least THAT one, we can easily-answer/and willingly-so.

But sheesh....has Ebay changed round "these heahhhh pahhhhts".

I know "things change" (usually NOT for "the better")...but that is the way of the world.

But holy cow has Ebay gone from being "perfect in 2008..to a "chase your own tail more than Mark Schmuckerberg batch of nonsensical-dumb rules" in LESS time than it takes for a "presidential cycle to flip".

Can we sellers do ANYTHING to reverse this?
