I'm an experienced seller. Been doing variations for years. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE just IGNORE this if you think it is user error. Resist the temptation to be the hero, ignore and move along....
My variation listings I can view from the listings line up, select all the variations and make adjustments without ever opening the listing. Until today. Now it says I am not the seller for the listing.

Alright, so I've got good news and bad news @knownobob .
I've been sitting here working on listings, adjusting quantities on variations, no problems.
Until right now.
A change must have just rolled out because:
1. The design changed - the pop up is so much bigger than it used to be and instead of immediately below quantity where you just clicked, it's now in the middle of the page which is so much less efficient! It's now inconvenient for these quick updates! Why move it? You click a field to edit and you want to edit it in that same spot on your screen without having to scroll around to click everything.
They did this to what - add the "edit listing" button? Man I hate this change. We do not need the "edit listing" button - there's a freaking edit link just to the left! I cannot stand these changes made by people that clearly do not use the product on a daily basis!
2. I am getting the same error as you on all of my variation listings. That part is supposed to be the good news because now you know this is not just you.
Additional notes:
- With variations we cannot edit price, quantity, or Custom SKU. None of those fields.
- With non-variations we can edit that stuff, but the system is moving like molasses. It would be faster to open the listing form, make edits, and save changes. Seller Hub is supposed to make it 10x quicker, not take longer!
- Happening with every browser I tried.
So ... gonna sound like a scratched record here, but the best thing to do is click the ? icon on the bottom right of the page and file a tech report. It's fast, easy, and eBay does review the reports. Also, the more people reporting the higher it will go up eBay's fix list.
Tagging in some of our other regular variation users to see if they'll report, too.
FYI to a few of the active mentors in case you get lots of questions on the ask a mentor forum.

Also tagging in kyle@ebay 'cause I'm so frustrated right now and hoping he'll provide updates when available.
Hey @wastingtime101 thanks for the tag! It looks like we have an alert open for this issue already, so things are on track. I'll get this added to the tech issue board momentarily.

Is it one of the listings that contain different items and not variations?

Off the bat, can you confirm if you've already gone through basic troubleshooting including:
1. Try a different browser.
2. Clear browser cookies/cache.
3. Reboot computer.
Are you able to edit quantity by opening the listing to edit rather than using the Seller Hub shortcut to revise quantity/price/etc?
Are you experiencing this issue with any other listing or just item 113928594877?
Trying to help narrow this down a bit.

I can change it by going into the listing. I did restart the browser. Let me restart my computer.

This is with all variation listings and continued after restarting the computer. I did not try another browser, I always use Chrome.

You're the BEST wastingtime! I always hope you will be the one responding. I am not perfect, but I've done this so many times when I run into stuff I kinda know when glitchbay is striking again. I thought all THE SAME THINGS you said in the "why are they doing this section?" I'm with you. Ok. I'll go to the little question. I was hoping to raise awareness so they'd get it on the list. For now no more quick updates to listings until this is fixed.

Thanks for the tag. And yes I’m experiencing everything you are too with the stupid obviously inaccurate error as well as the extra clicking required.
On a related note, I’d like to also add an issue I’ve had with the variations revision section in Seller Hub. When you expand the variations to edit, why are they only sorted in descending order of available quantity? That’s so stupid. Why not allow sellers to sort it in, I dunno maybe, the order that the seller made the variations display for the buyer to see? That should already be the default sort view. It’s super annoying to adjust quantities of my colors and sizes when the order of these constantly moves around because of their available quantity.
Instead of having them all in a neat order like Black S, M, L, XL, XXL, White S, M, L, XL, XXL I end up seeing an order like Black XXL, Black M, White XL, Black S, White L, White XXL, you get my drift. It takes much longer for us to update quantities and increases the chances of an inventory mistake. Even windows folders (detailed view) or excel allows you to sort by different columns.

It is for sure 100% broken across all browsers(Fire Fox, Chrome, Edge, Brave, Liber Wolf) and all accounts so it is not account related.
You can still log edit them manually the long hard tedious way via edit listing edit variation, change quantity. I guess they forgot to fully break it.

Give it time 😀

Same thing happening here, so yeah, it's not just you. Your post actually allayed my fears, so, thanks! Hopefully they get it fixed soon.
I initially thought it was because I accidentally clicked onto the site with my VPN turned on. When I have my VPN tunnel on, eBay throws a hissy fit, and sometimes I'll accidentally click over from my Gmail to reply to a message, or update my sales stats, forgetting to turn it off. Then I have to purge data and cookies and relog. I thought it was that, i.e. - I screwed up on my end, but when I did all of the above and it still didn't work... blah. But, now I know it's just the system being the system. Just gotta roll with it till it's fixed.
I've been around since 1997, and I'll tell you, I miss when things were basically just, "It's a flea market. Here, sell."

do we know when this problem will be solved?
