I purchased a buy it now item and went to pay for it using the credit card information on file (as I always do) and received error ' payment option not available, please choose another option' My credit card is current, payment is not late, and I'm not over the limit. I then tried using paypal and got the same error message. I then tried my debit card with the same result. I cancelled the purchase and contacted the seller explaining the reason.
The next day I receive notice from ebay I had to pay for the item or I will get an unpaid item strike against me. I tried paying for the item again with the same results so I again cancelled item and contacted the seller explaining the reson. I then called ebay and there were no issues with my account and they made some checks and said everything on their end was working. They escalated it to a support manager. The support manager had me sign out and back into my account and re-add the item. Same results as before - unable to pay for the item regardless of the method chosen. They then transfered me to paypal that also checked and said nothing was wrong with my credit card or account and that the payment attempt had not even reached their system. I had to cancel the purchase of the item yet again (item was less than $5.00 including shipping so it wasn't because of the amount) I'm afraid to make another ebay purchase because of this issue. I did end up buying the item on amazon.com using the same card I was not able to use on ebay.
