I contacted eBay … they were unaware of any issues… I directed them to come vrs here and they have opened a ticket on the issue. At the moment my messages are still not opening. This same issue happened about a month ago.

Yes, I can not open messages or even read any. The messages also looks different. I am on Google Chrome mobile

Can you see your messages if you tap the left facing arrow in the box in the upper left of your Message page where it says "Messages" at the top when using a mobile browser?

Yes, I can see them but when I touch/click on any of them nothing happens

When i tap the left facing arrow the messages look the way they used to when it worked but it doesn't work.

Try using the eBay app to view your messages. Or a desktop browser.
Mobile browsers seem to have problems at the moment.

I have the same problem and I'm using a desktop.
The problem started for me about 6 hours ago. Google Chrome browser.

I am still able to read and respond to messages using a desktop browser. It is possible that eBay is testing something or rolling out changes that have not yet reached me, though.
Try another browser to rule out a browser issue. Try a private or incognito browser window.
Try viewing your messages on ebay.ca. Or using the eBay app.
If you have member messages sent to your email address, try reading and responding to messages there by replying directly to the emails.

I tried a different browser and an incognito window... same result.
Also tried eBay.co and uk.... same result.
Also cleared the cache... same result.
When it happened with me, I was sending some messages and then it wouldn't work anymore... like something just happened to the system.
About an hour ago, I was able to send one reply to a buyer from my phone using the messaging system and then it wouldn't work anymore. I couldn't open their reply back to me.

You are using a desktop browser, not a mobile browser? Desktop browsers are still working for me.
If a desktop browser is not working for you, try using the eBay app on your phone to read and reply to messages.
If you have not already done so, make sure you have set your Communication Preferences to send your eBay messages to your email. That way you will at least be able read and respond to new messages from members using email directly.
