Unable to make payment via eBay

Hi eBay,

is there a problem with making payments? I have tried the following...

1. Different browsers on desktop (Chrome and Edge)

2. Tried the app on iOS and Android

3. Tried using PayPal and using cards stored on eBay (multiple)

4. Tried updating the address on my account

5. Tried at different times of the day 

Nothing seems to work @sasa-co

What happens when you try to pay? What error message are you seeing, or at what point are you getting stuck?

Is the problem with one seller, or more than one?

If only one seller, is the seller new to selling or registered in another country? Either might be an indication that the seller has not set up the account to receive your payment.

Omg, I cannot even reply to the post on my 3rd attempt. Something is seriously wrong

Let try it yet again. The error message I get is ‘Your payment didn’t go through. Please check the card info and billing address ...’

Does the seller ship to the UK? What kind of selling feedback does the seller have?

What is different about this particular order compared to others you have made?

Yes, the seller does domestically ship. There is no difference to other sellers

How many sales transactions has the seller done successfully in the UK?

I am assuming all his transactions have been in the UK, because he/she states that they are located in the UK

I talked to customer service today and this is still an ongoing issues. He said he is taking calls of customers complaining still about this. It's been an off and on problem since Jan 2020. For the last hour none of my customers have been able to pay, normally some get through but not for the last little while.

Just spoken to customer service and they weren’t able to provide further information on this. Removed all my cards from the account on their instructions and wasn’t able to add them back. Definitely something has changed on the eBay side, how frustrating.

Are you adding the cards to your account on ebay.co.uk, or ebay.com?

If you have many unsuccessful card transactions in a row, you may need to check with your issuing bank in case there is a problem with the card itself, or between the bank and eBay.

I’ve just tried purchasing a random item from another seller and my payment details were fine, wasted a few pounds in the process. I have since reached out to the seller @sasa-co to understand if everything is fine on his end. The hours spent trying to pay and troubleshooting is exhausting. No way it should be this difficult

That seller has not sold in over 12 months - and I can see no active listings showing.

Personally I would steer clear, eBay may have suspected a hacked account t and removed the listings?

Hmm... thanks. The seller @sasa-co has been in touched and mentioned that he/she will check with customer services. I have a call-back with customer services also looking into this following my escalation yesterday. eBay customer service mentioned that they will check the technical side of both my account and the sellers in any case. Let’s see whether eBay does it’s job to fix these glitches or what ever it might be. I’ve done my part and have all the communication so from my side I should be ok from a legal and evidence point of side to clear this issue, should it come down to getting a buyer strike on my account for non payment
