Unable to attach pictures to return request

On trying to attach a picture to a return request (which is mandatory), I get the error message "We were unable to upload your photo(s). Please try again with a JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF or BMP file." I have tried with JPG and PNG files of various sizes but with no success.

I was using Chrome - subsequently tried with Firefox and it worked.

I'm getting the error message in Firefox & Safari.
