Trouble with listing variations

I have tried everything and can't get my listing to show variations like multiple colors for a product. Has anyone else had this issue and were you able to resolve it?

Hi @ferdelen. To turn on variations when you are in the listing click the three dots in the upper right corner of the page, and then click settings, you can then turn them on.

Thank you so much! I actually found some instructions from another eBay user saying the exact same thing and it finally worked. I wish eBay would've updated their variation instructions online. I didn't see this information anywhere. Thanks again!

Hey @ferdelen . Good to see you got the info needed from Elizabeth and from other posts. This is my standard how to find / start with variations info - you and others may be able to pick up additional helpful tips.

First thing: variations are not supported on the app. Make sure you're using the website. Variations are not supported for auction format listings; make sure you're using fixed price.

By default the variation setting is hidden on the listing form. Once you unhide the setting it will stick for future listings.

On the top right of the page click the settings menu (3 vertical dots) and toggle the variations slider if it's not already on.

Make sure you're working off a new listing, not a relist or sell similar from a listing without variations.

Beyond that it comes down to category; not every category supports variations.

If the category supports variations you'll find them in a non-intuitive, awkward placement on the listing form - below item specifics instead of above them. Make sure you set up variations before you fill out any of the IS.

My screen's top right corner is different. Instead of a kebab menu with three vertical dots, there's only a settings cog. I've attempted using both the advanced listing tool from scratch and modifying a draft, but I can't find the option I need. I understand that availability of certain features, like variations, can be category-dependent, but I've seen existing listings in the same category that have what I'm looking for, so I'm sure this category supports it.

No but I was able to work around the trouble by first creating a template and then all of a sudden I saw the kebab menu (three vertical dots) and went from there. The variations are working for me now. Thanks!
