Hello - since it's my understanding that this board is monitored by the tech gurus, I would like to request that you make the Custom Field searchable by more than just letters - e.g., whatever is put in the search field (such as a combination of letters, or a date). The title field is searchable this way, but currently only a series of letters can be searched for in the Custom Field.
Let me explain why this is important - if the Custom Field is supposed to be for whatever we want (hence, CUSTOM) then it NEEDS to be searchable by any combination of letters/numbers/characters so that we can FIND that information when we need it.
For instance, I use that field for many things - the item location, the intials of the lister, the date it was listed, and the product ID. Each of these bits of information is important in their own right for different reasons. Right now, we have to have the Bin Location first otherwise our shipper can't print out a pick list in order of location. But if I want to look up all the items listed on a certain day (which helps to find lost items), I can't. I would need to have the date first so that it would be sortable, but then the shipper can't print out an orderly pick list...UGH.
It's incredibly frustrating not to be able to do this when it clearly is possible (since you can search the title field by whatever and you get whatever you search for).
Please, please make this change as soon as possible.
