Re: Technical Issues not being acknowledged

Would you be refering to the "New Sign In Page" that will not allow you to stay signed in? I have been selling for about 18 years and the last five days has been the worst I have had to deal with.

Re: Technical Issues not being acknowledged

I spoke with Ebay CS yesterday about the multiple issues and was told that there are no bugs and the system is running as normal. my seler hub page is always wrong, listings arent showing up in search and impressions get worse when i run promotions.

Re: Technical Issues not being acknowledged

I agree about the "signing in all the time" thing. It's HORRIBLE. I've been on eBay now for 14 years. Never seen anything this bad.

I wish they would stop trying to FIX something that's not broken. Everything was finally working fine and now the dashes instead of total # of views is popping up again.

They never really fix anything. It's very frustrating. I tried calling yesterday but there was a 20 minute hold time when I called in so I just slammed the phone down.

Re: Technical Issues not being acknowledged

Actually and I've seen on other forums people with the same issue I'm having, our account has been placed on hold due to non-payment. Please make a one-time payment for US $XXXX.XX today to prevent your account from being further restricted.  This is for the invoice that arrived on the 15th of this month, automatic payment is set up and supposed to go through as stated on the "invoice" between the 23rd and 25th, both of those dates are in the future, I received an email as through the app only purchases and best offers trigger a notification, otherwise I wouldn't have noticed it until I tried to list something....account is up to date and regardless have until next invoice on Sept 15 to pay before account is actually restricted or they start adding late fees, that's what they say, I've never waited to pay to see...so I call...asks for the 1st 4 letters and my zip and immediately transfers me into a que....I'm listening to the music and please hold for the next available....for 2 hours and 44 min, till the music stopped and the phone was still connected just I guess the continuous loop broke...called back gave it ABCD as the 1st 4 char and it didn't ask for a zip, asked for accounts, asked for restrictions as seller, no music....so I called back, gave it ABCE asked for report a buyer, maybe get another dept that isn't getting pounded by sellers who have been restricted, I forgot I was on hold waiting while typing this.....on hold no music....eBay is dead.  Also for some reason today they hit my paypal account for 1 dollar? no reason...I did check to make sure as I have 40 packages to ship from over the weekend that I can still print labels as they all have to go out tomorrow, 2 day handling.....I doubt I'll get anyone to night, I can't list because of the restriction, I've got 40 items ending her in the next hour, I ended 1 of them early to try to relist it and got the error about the restriction....

Anyone one else have their account put on hold? http://downdetector.com/status/ebay this is where I noticed another with the same glitch?

Regarding the sign-in issue, I have not had a problem with Firefox, Chrome or Opera, but I noticed some weirdness with Edge and Explorer requiring a sign-in if I quit the browser and restarted. The problem went away shortly after I went to Account: Site Preferences: Other General Preferences and checked the box "Keep me signed in on this computer", and hit "Apply". If you are still having a problem, give that a shot.

Re: Technical Issues not being acknowledged

Interesting. I have noticed before that most that seem to have problems are Microsoft IE or Edge users...who do not use Chrome or Firefox. I am not going to change my browser just for eBay. They need to update for everybody.

Anyway, I just tried that. Hopefully it will also help with the slowness of changing screens within Community, etc. No matter what computer I tried in the house, every time I tried to "ask the community", it would just sit & spin. I'm even having to close out & go back in. Will see if I still am prompted to keep signing in. Thanks for the posting the option. Appreciate it very much. S

Re: Technical Issues not being acknowledged

One fix for "not being able to stay signed in"

Go to - "Account settings"

Then select - "Site preference"

Then scroll down to - "General Preferences"

Then check - "Stay signed in"

I have always had this box checked, but found the "Stay signed in box was no longer checked"

Checking the "Stay signed on box" on the sign in page will not keep you signed in if the box is not

also checked in "Account settings" under "General Preferences"

Hope that helps.

Re: Technical Issues not being acknowledged

Sometime I just laugh when I read some of these problems. I can't remember the last time when Ebay ran efficiently with no glitches. Most of it is just little annoying things like not updating sales immediately. These systems are supposed to run at the speed of light.

Re: Technical Issues not being acknowledged

your impressions are getting worse because they changed the behavior of the GTC listings they no longer recycle every 30 days then start at 1 again in visibility in standing they now go on and on until they disappear unless there is a direct hit in search, first noticed in 10/17,this is a "sneaky change" it was harder to notice when you could run sales and buyers could click on other items but now that sales are limited and the visibility of the sale is reduced it makes the lack of impressions much more apparent

Re: Technical Issues not being acknowledged

The only time a moderator responds to technical issues is if you violate their posting policies. I was recently chastized for suggesting that ebay coders have mental disabilities, using a less politically correct word. Then, as if by magic a moderator appeared, not to address the numerous community posts about technical issues, but to warn me about hurtful language posting violations. Ebay does not care about their customers who buy and sell. They only care about big money advertisers and how to get more revenue from them. That is why they keep trying to re-invent the wheel, usually for the worse for their users experience.
