Spoof Email or Genuine?

I get an email from presumably Ebay stating that this is an early delivery notice. When I click on it, there is a prompt for Login Information. I don’t know who is doing this, whether it is Ebay or a Spoof Account, however this presents an avenue for security and private information to be revealed. I was already signed in and then the Email is asking me to sign in separately. That type of correspondence is very suspicious. As if someone is trying to get you to reveal your sign-in information. I get the same exact types of requests for Credit Card information and PayPal which turned out to be some type of fishing or information gathering scheme. I would call the Credit Card Company and they would tell me that they did not send that email correspondence. So when you receive these types of emails claiming to be Ebay, it is suspicious. What makes matters worse is the fact that this message does not appear in Ebay, when I go to my messages. All correspondence from Ebay should have a matching message, to serve as proof that Ebay did in fact send it.

Spoof Email or Genuine?

If it doesn't show in your eBay mail queue, then it is not legitimate.

Never trust a blind link in an email, regardless of who it appears to be from. Scammers can copy legitimate mail messages -- including any disclaimers about not using links -- and add their own scam links to the message. Someone you know could have an infected computer, which allows scam messages to be sent to that person's contacts.

Most browsers will let you hover your cursor over a link to see where it goes. If you do not recognize the address, do not use the link.

If you have any doubts at all, do not use the link. Just go to ebay.com directly yourself.

@pf9000, if the message isn't in your eBay messages, then it's a fake, a spoof. Don't click on the link.

Whenever I get an email from any bank, credit card, or selling sites, if it has a link I close the email and go right to the site directly through my own bookmarked link. Never ever click a link and enter your information.

Scam to steal your info...., If such was needed it would be in your eBay messages: not through email..

One gets a lot of such garbage:  Folks do fall for such or it still would not be going on....

If you clicked on a link in such run a virus and spyware scan on your systems...
