Experts,
Is spellcheck contolled by some on/off option somewhere? For a month or so I've noticed that the very helpful red underlining of misspelled words is sporadic on the listing page. Usually it doesn't show up at all when a word is misspelled, but it sometimes pops up if you close and reopen the listing for edits.
Now even that doesn't seem to be happening (see screen capture below). I checked this on two computers (Apple Mac running Microsoft Edge browser and my wife's Apple laptop running the Apple Safari browser) with the same result. See the first sentence of the description on the listing page below.

That's an Edge thing then. I can't replicate in Safari or Firefox having to click outside the box. Hitting space or enter after a misspelled word is enough for my browser to flag it.
Thanks for posting the info. Will keep it in mind for others like @lotzofuniquegoodies that are having problems with their browser's spell check.

FYI….. You needed spell check for the title and body of your post.
Spellcheck would be controlled by the web browser you use.
ETA…I am not an expert.

Thank @ebooksdiva . Good suggestion.
But ... I went to the browser's options and it appears I have spell check on (see below). I haven't check my wife's laptop yet. I'll do that and get back.

That is only part of spellcheck with Edge. If Microsoft editor isn’t working for you try Basic. Or get a dictionary lol

Thanks again. I checked the additional areas. I have spellcheck on for "English United States" but not the one for generic "English." Maybe that's it.

If you aren't updating your browser that can contribute to spellcheck not working properly.

I've noticed with every browser I use, with spell check enabled, listing descriptions are spell checked but listing titles are not. Been that way for a long time. I think it has something to do with the way the title field is programmed as part of a form.
But like I said, no issues with description spell check on Safari or Firefox.

Thanks for your attention to this and helpful inputs.
I think I have managed to define the behavior better and have a work-around.
To start, I set all the Edge spellcheck options as suggested by EBD, rebooted my computer, and confirmed I had the latest version of Edge. In the listing description box I got the same behavior the FIRST time I typed in nonsense words. Then I clicked outside the text input frame and clicked back into it. The red lines appeared immediately (see below).
In the scope of eBay issues overall, probably not worth more attention.

The old listing tool and a previous version of the discussion box both had built in spell check tools. (Note. They used US English which can cause some headshaekes (spelling intentional...no, it didn't flag as wrong) for us silly north of the border type folks, but at least it was there. There was no reason to remove them. Even the html editor with old version was much more user friendly for any techno dweeb.
I just figure we shouldn't need to proof outside of eBay or rely on poorly implemented AI.
PS. Browser is Chrome.

Thanks @lotzofuniquegoodies .
Have to agree with you. It would have been simpler and more reliable if the spell check had remained part of the listing tool rather than depending on half a dozen browsers and their settings. I now have a dedicated Safari window that I use only for doing eBay listings.
