Sold Listings Are Still Active

Earlier this week I noticed that several of my sold listings continue to be listed as "Active."

This is aggravating as it is causing me to delete sold listings manually.

Luckily, I haven't resold anything yet.

Is anybody else having this issue?

Can you provide an example item?

Your listings are not active for others to see when sold.

You need to go to "site preferences" to disable the out of stock (OOS) setting.

If yes is checked the GTC items will still show on your "active" , and will renew(relist) even with zero quantity.

This is what was wrong.

That's is what I expected too, but wanted to check by looking at a listing. Do you remember turning on the OOS feature? Maybe to see how it worked? You're not a new seller...that setting should not change by itself. Someone else recently posted with the same question (which I can't find now) and it made me wonder if there was a bug...

Anyway, that feature is a great tool for sellers who sell new items and restock inventory, but not for sellers with the type of items you have listed.

I wonder about that setting being check marked as well.

Maybe eBay has chosen to help sellers by making that the default with some update along the way.

On my accounts I had not used the "yes" for my listings. Really knew nothing about it until March '19 when the new GTC policy came into play, and lots of discussion on the boards made me aware of it.

Now I use the OOS, as I sell items that I run out of stock on, and replenish without having to use up another free listing. I realize that it was there to use for that purpose before the change to mandatory GTC, just was oblivious to it.

I did turn on this feature, and for the reason you stated. I simply forgot that I had done this.

Like many others I was looking for a way to keep my listings after ending them. I need to do this primarily for seasonal listings. In past years, this was simple because my eBay and Bonanza accounts are synced. I would simply go to my Bonanza account and do a copy and past.

However, with GTC I need to end the listing myself. When I do this the listing goes into my "Unsold Ended Listings" folder and comes off of my Bonanza store. Poof! The listing is now gone forever.

Since I started this thread I have figured a way to accomplish what I need done.

This is what I do:

I end the listing on eBay then click on it.

I save the listing as a PDF file to a folder on my desktop labeled "Christmas"

The listings still come off my Bonanza store, but I have the listing to copy and past next October.

Great...thanks for posting back on that. At least that's NOT one more bug! 🙂
