To give ebay a flavour of the nuber of bugs on the site right now, below is a basic change i tried to make some listings. Note i've been with ebay for 10+ years using a store and know for a fact the platform is getting worse both in terms of the sheer number of bugs and in terms of the seller experience (just about to shut my store after trying everything i could think of to re-invigorate sales, but sadly I fell off the start of July cliff like so many others.
So my task was to change a small number of items from GTC to 30 day fixed price listings. I opted for bulk update, but.......
Bug 1: I had 3 items stuck in my inventory from when I had the "out of stock" settings set to keep listing details for items which were sold out. The bug here is that if you change that seller setting to not hold out of stock items, any already set to zero in your inventory do not fall out.
Bug 2: To get around this I had to manually "End item" for each of these 3 items individually, but each time i tried to do this I was forced to re-enter my password, sometimes more than once
Bug 3: Even when I re-entered my password I saw a "Fix size error" (forgotten actual wording), but after numerous attempts I managed to update them
Bug 4: Now if I try to bulk edit anything else i get a "Something went wrong. Please try again" error.
15 minutes of faffing around for a simple task that with proper programming should never have occurred in the first place (ie changing "out of stock" setting updates existing stock list)
I'm hoping someone from ebay reads this mail and instead of blaming the way i'm doing things, or cookies, or whatever other response they pick from the "blame the seller list", they feed this and all of the other issues back to the powers that be - you can't keep burying your head in the sand.
I really have no idea what is going on over at ebay HQ, but you need to start taking serious interest in the seller experience as you are in danger of killing the gose that laid the golden egg.
