I've just created a new Ebay account and trying to connect it to Shopify.
When going to complete the setup, a popup appears which takes me to Ebay integration product setup page.
I complete the Inventory Location page, then on Payment & Taxes page this is where I get stuck. It is asking where they should send payments to, as a Paypal account is required to sell on Ebay. Enter the email address associated with your account.
When I enter the Paypal account and click save, it states "Invalid payment detail". I've even tried multiple Paypal accounts and has the same error message.
Very frustrating, as I believe it may be because Ebay no longer uses Paypal so it cannot link any Paypal in the Ebay payment settings.
I've tested the Shopify Ebay integration with an old personal Ebay account, and it completely misses the step asking for a Paypal account for payments, since Paypal is already linked.
Anyone had similar issues and knows how to get round it?
Thanks

This is the problem, the integration is asking for a Paypal account, but none exists nor can one be added on Ebay.
Regards,
In that screenshot, it is showing a card that was added for making payments, as a buyer. You can't receive payments to a credit card as a seller.
Click on Selling, which is further down in the list on the left hand side.

It's not eBay that is asking you for a PayPal account ... it must be that the Shopify process is out of date. It hasn't been updated to reflect the change from PayPal to managed payments.

Pay Pal is no longer used to accept payments.
You have to sign up for Managed Payments now to get paid.

You still have to setup managed payments whether you have a cc card on file or not. And MP uses a bank account.

I don't recognize that as an eBay page, so it appears to be something to do with the shopify integration process, and it is out of date.
You can't link a PayPal account for receiving payments for eBay transactions. You have to sign up for managed payments. I have no idea how to do that through shopify, and they don't seem to have updated their process to keep up with the changes on eBay. It's been more than a year since all new eBay sellers had to sign up for managed payments.
You don't even have to have a PayPal account for buying anymore, it's just one of many options for buyers to pay with, now.
I would suggest that you sign up for managed payments on your eBay selling account through eBay first, and then try to integrate that account with shopify.

For Ebay, you have to provide a checking account so you can get paid.
The credit card is to pay any fee's or refunds not covered by the fee's in your MP account.

Thanks All!
I understand what you mean now with the difference of adding a card for payment and a card for being paid.
I've added this now and need to wait 1-3 days for the microtransaction to come through to complete the setup. Will test again once fully set up the managed payment card.
Thank you all for your help so far!

It worked!
I just had to disconnect the ebay account from shopify and reconnect. Didn't ask for payment details this time.
Thanks again, been stuck on this all day!

We used to have shopify and bought the integration app and it does say that if it doesn't work for you the app can be cancelled. We only had it a week before we figured out that it doesn't work for many reasons, one being the one you posted about, and their customer support is just as useless as the app. When we requested refund because the app simply won't integrate, they pretended to be clueless, and we were stuck with that $250 worthless app. BTW we also figured out shopify is useless as well unless Drop shipping.

When you sell something, you'll have to provide a checking account so you can be paid.
