I use 8.5" x 11" shipping labels, 2 per page that I can peel and stick when printed....all of a sudden today, instead of the labels printing sideways as they have always done, they now print vertically which means the adhesive labels I used are now useless....I did not change any settings on the computer or printer....just all of a sudden they started having wrong orientation...Can someone please help me fix this issue??? I am a senior and not computer literate...any instructions you can provide would be much appreciated....Thanks for any help

Changing it to 2 pages per sheet worked for me. The only difference is that the label prints on the opposite side of the sheet from before. No big deal.

I also had to change to two sheets.

I manually opened the label in Adobe and it was still printing funky so that solution was not working for me. So frustrating to have something change out of thin air.

@cardphilthyI just tried what you did, and works fine for me using Adobe.

What browser are you using?

When you open the label with Adobe, were the settings for Size=Actual, and the Orientation=Auto?

Was the "Choose paper source by PDF page size" unchecked?

Does the print preview show the proper page outline and the label fitted properly?

@cardphilthy Thanks, that was a big help. Appears ebay is sending users with this problem the 4"x6" label format meant for thermal label printers and this is what is causing the vertical label. And why changing the orientation only affects the printer page and not the label image.

Next time you create a label, look for the label format at the lower right. Even if it is correct, click on CHANGE and try switching between the half sheet laser/inkjet format and the 4"x6" format, each time using the preview button to see if this shows you a sample in each of the two different formats correctly. This will help further narrow down the problem.

So when I do the preview, it shows correctly (and 8x11 is selected). However, when I go to print it is still showing it as if I selected 4x6.

Thanks for helping narrow down the issue. Hopefully eBay fixes it shortly.

@cardphilthy Thanks for checking. Seems it only affects certain users. A similar problem has appeared before. Now I have enough details to look for the resolution last time and to pass on to ebay tech for them to help.

I had the same issue this morning. Tried everything to resolve it but then I read some of the other messages. When I select "print 2 per page" the label shows and prints like it used to (horizontal). (someone on here posted this and thanks!!!) Instead of trying to figure it out from a technical standpoint, I am happy to use 2 clicks instead of 1 for now.....

Same here. Happened suddenly and now I've tried Chrome and Edge with no difference. Changing the orientation does nothing either. This was an issue for a very long time when printing FedEx after Ebay updated and completely changed the label program. Finally it fixed after months.

@cardphilthy I found the old workaround when this was happening early last year. Next time you need to print a label, use the Bulk Shipping tool, even if you are only going to print a single label. See if this workaround still works. I am not having the problem so I can't test it.

Here is a work around that I found after a lot of struggling and "choice words" until they get this fixed:

1. From label screen, choose "Download Label"

2. Choose "Open with Adobe Reader"

3. Hit the Print Icon Button

4. From the Printer Pop-up, Select "Multiple" button, pages per sheet = 2, and page order = "vertical reversed"

(Orientation should be "portrait")

This has been working for me. Make sure you close out the PDF window after printing so you don't get them mixed up and print the same label twice when shipping your next item.
