I have received messages from potential bidders that no shipping costs are being displayed, and instead they are seeing "calculate", and then a zip code error message. I have no way of knowing if this it true for everyone viewing the auction.
Shipping details I used were for an 18" x 18" x 6" package @ 8Lbs, shipped via Fedex. Since there are bids on the item, I can no longer edit these details to see if page visitors can see what shipping will actually cost them.
I spoke with eBay about this issue, and the rep told me they would try to resolve it within 72 hours. It has been more than 72 hours now and nothing has changed. The rep also saw "calculate" when viewing the page.
If this issue persists till the auction ends, how will eBay address the fees? What will they base the charges on? How do I go about charging the high bidder actual shipping charges to their location (which was my original intention) without physically shipping the item first?
What is my best course of action to deal with this?
Online search reveals this has been a problem for many years.... why?
Thanks for any input,
Wolf
