Maybe I am doing something wrong or something is new to the search engine. If I search say "1934 Studebaker" I get matches for around 5000 items and with various titles, makes and models (ie. Ford, Pontiac, Others). I am not including the description. So if a customer is looking for something specific like a "1934 Studebaker" and come up with all these other matches how will they find my listings of same titled item?

This topic just came up the other day, here is some information that might help.

It's NOT an issue; it's just 'it what it is'. Simply because 'fuzzy dice' fit 1000's of vehicles and those seller will input 1000's of vehicles as 'fitment'
If you are NOT looking for 'parts' for that vehicle, then you need to go to 'cars and trucks' for sale in ebay motors, then input the particular vehicle and year you are looking for.

If I search say "1934 Studebaker" I get matches for around 5000 items
If you are entering those terms into eBay's search without the quotes, then you are asking for every listing that contains the keyword 1934 and also the keyword Studebaker anywhere in the title or item-specifics. Apparently there are 5000 items that contain those search terms.
If you want to see something specific, you will have to narrow your search further.
You can, for instance, search for items in the Parts & Accessories category of eBay Motors that contains the exact phrase in order "1934 Studebaker":

I use the quotes but searched the general search engine not just parts and accessories. Makes it tough for the general buyer looking for a part not knowing you have to narrow it down to category. Was looking for a specific ashtray to list. Is a Studebaker handle ashtray. Found it one listed on eBay through Google search. Wouldn't come up with it in the general search in quotes. Mostly because it was not exactly titled that way in the other listing. Would be tough to find for the average looker.

I am seeing the exact same thing.
Worse when I search "completed listings".
eBay's search engine is clearly not working, at all, for either buyers or sellers.
Is that what a seller gets when paying for "promoted listings"? ebay Charges you to show the listing to 1,000's of UN-interested buyers. Nice program.
It is about to ruin ebay, I have noticed a huge downturn in my sales since the "new" search engine.
