Scammer ?

Hello I recently had an item listed on eBay and a buyer was wanting me to “request” money thru PayPal so he can pay me thru PayPal. I sent him the request and few mins later he states that he has payed for it and all that and I just need to ship out the item for the payment to go thru? But there was no where to put the tracking # the request still said pending .. few minutes go by I get emails from “EBay” under customerhelp@online-ebayserv.com stating that I have to ship out the item to get the payment , again no where to put tracking even if I was to ship it out .  Then I message the buyer and tell him I don’t feel safe with the transaction anymore . Then few mins later I get another email from “EBay” saying my account might be suspended or limit my account  if I don’t send the package out . This is a scam right ?

@stastap-7913

Never give your personal information to your trading partner.

Buyers pay through the listing, not through exchanging PayPal info.

This person is scamming you. Stop communicating with them, they are a thief.

Here is the eBay page about getting paid. IN FULL.

Yes, pure scam, 100%. Block the deadbeat and ignore him and the scam emails. The next step will be a fake PP email saying you have been paid.

There is *NEVER* any reason for a buyer to know your paypal info, as a seller you don't even need a PP account. The buyer always pays through eBay, and the funds go into your MP account.

This is a very popular scam on ebay that can ONLY happen if the seller is stupid and does NOT follow Ebay policy.  You are NEVER  EVER supposed to exchange email addresses with a bidder.   Any seller that does this for sure is going to be scammed.

Go ahead and block that buyer. You do NOT want to sell to him.  Even if he pays you through Ebay, he is still going to scam you.  Let me guess, the item is something pricey, like jewelry, electronics or designer clothing.   Always check that your payment is in MY EBAY.  If you do NOT know what is MY EBAY, do not even think of listing another item until you know where to find MY EBAY and how to use it.

YOU SHOULD NEVER EVER SEE A PAYMENT THAT SAYS PAYPAL .     The payment will say MANAGED PAYMENTS  and will be found in MY Ebay.  If it's not there, the buyer did not pay.

Not only are you allowed to exchange contact information, there are quite a few very good reasons why sellers often need to. What you don't need to do is send a buyer your PP address right off the bat, although you may need to in some cases.
