Saved Search Emails Going Crazy?

I have like 100 saved searches and I am getting repeated emails today for many of them repeatedly and the results are not matching the saved search? Just random items.. I have gotten hundreds of emails today for these

Saved Search Emails Going Crazy?

I came here to report the exact same thing. I set search alerts for specific items, they worked great before, a specific model number item I wanted was posted, I was alerted. But today, Nov 15, I got many alert emails but the items they contained did not have that model number, they were related but not the exact item.

My guess is in an effort to show someone searching for a specific item more stuff, they broadened the search results to included non-related items rather than say no items match that search. They need to undo this change immediately as it's ruined the search.

This is also a problem for me. EBay is sending me a lot of emails every single day related to my “saved searches” that are not accurate to my saved search. It started happening yesterday, so likely a bug was introduced to the software Tuesday night/Wednesday morning.

EBay, please consider this a high priority.

I am having the same issue and it also started yesterday.  It is very annoying to suddenly receive dozens of emails from eBay with search results unrelated to my Saved Search terms.  As someone else noted, this has ruined the Search feature on eBay.  Please fix this eBay!

You may want to consider temporarily stopping email alerts for the saved searches affected, and possibly creating a new search with one of your search keywords enclosed in quotes in order to bypass the faulty keyword substitution feature which seems to be producing the irrelevant results.

Use the "Feedback" link on the search results page to alert eBay to the problem with a particular search. The more users report issues directly to eBay that way, the more likely eBay is to do something about the problem.

Same issue here. I'm getting results matching any of the keywords, not all the keywords, as before. I'm getting a bunch of totally irrelevant results in each email, and I don't see the things I'm interested in, because they get lost in the huge quantity of irrelevant results.

Yes, it's now terrible.  They're trying to drive users to listings, but they're really just driving them away from the site altogether.

PLEASE FIX THIS.

It’s so bad, totally useless now. If they were hoping I’d come to search more often, they are wrong. I don’t want anything so badly I’m going to fish through garbage to find it. There’s a reason I don’t go to thrift stores.

… And if you are impacted by this problem, I would suggest marking all of those emails as spam. Because they are spam, and eBay still has not added this situation to their “known issues” list.

I would suggest marking all of those emails as spam.

Marking non-spam emails as spam because you are upset about eBay's current search problems may have other effects that you like a lot less.

If your mail provider's program decides that all email from eBay is spam because you marked those messages as spam, that may cause other problems for you down the line. And undoing that later may prove difficult for you.

By all means, temporarily disable your email updates or have your eBay emails sent to a different folder or forwarded elsewhere, or bypass your inbox entirely; but do so in a way that you know you can easily undo if you want to later.

Marking it as spam won't get your point across to ebay as that feedback is for the email provider. In every search result email, there's link for  "Is this email helpful?" Click on the red X and fill out the form. Note that in every batch of daily search alert emails, you can only submit a single survey for one of the emails, you don't have to do it for every single alert email and it's not possible. So just give detailed feedback for that one search alert and let them know it covers all alerts you get now.

A better choice would be to change the settings for your saved searches on Ebay so they no longer send you email updates. Marking messages from Ebay as spam could render unwanted results for you and anyone foolish enough to follow your misguided advice.

Same issue for me too. Super annoying. I have stopped as of today looking at these emails because they are so many and irrelevant.

I'm getting them as well.  Instead of the usual "few" emails, I have been getting DOZENS.  To have to go back to all saved searches and manually make sure they aren't selected, would takes hours!!
