Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

Been trying to refund a buyers payment through you and it won't go through due to technical issues and says to try again.  I do this several times daily with no avail.

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

We are having an issue where we receive an error message when trying to cancel the sale of an item that has either not been paid for after a given amount of time as well as in cases where potential buyers are reaching out asking to cancel purchases after receiving payment reminders.

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

In the past week we have experienced the same issue involving PayPal/Ebay computers NOT communicating as they have in the past. Twice PayPal cancelled orders due to it being a "suspicious" transaction.  In both cases, these cancellations are NOT being recorded by the eBay side. This was always done in the past. Now, the transactions are listed as "ready to be shipped" when in fact they have been cancelled.  Calls to you eBay customer service desk have acknowledged this problem, and agents cannot fix the issue since its a technical glitch. To date, there has not been a fix, including the reversal of eBay fees charged on those items.

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

In a number of the previous updates on this issue, it has been mentioned that variation listings will need to be manually updated by the seller as the current fix to map over size will not work on variation listings. However, when I go to edit my varation listings, size is no longer an option on the main part of the listing. In the items specifics required area, the only options are brand and size type. Prior to the update, there was a specific for size and I always put "varies" not knowing else what to use because there were multiple sizes involved. In the edit variations area, sizes are still as they were before, so there appears to be nothing that needs to be changed. Please advise.

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

My sell similar item and relist buttons are not working and have been down for a few days! I can't relist and your rep is blaming my IE browser.  Not happy with ebay right now. I can get into my e-mail, youtube, Netflix, but your system will not let me sell, and that is not cool.  Blaming the browser seems like a way out of fixing the problem.

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

The women’s jean category has irrelevant item specifics. It had good item specifics before this update. Please consider reverting the item specifics back to how it used to be. Things like style (bootcut, skinny, boyfriend, straight, tapered, flare ect). Wash was also a good item specific (light, medium, dark, coated, colored), length (full length, ankle, crop)  and then a space for additional things such as a button fly, embroidery, raw hem ect. The crazy things you have in there now is just pointless and makes it harder to list quickly when you have to click that button for additional item specifics to find a few things to input. Nobody is inputting “thigh circumference” and “fits height” PLEASE revert back to the old item specifics for women’s jeans.

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

Hello, I appreciate your team working and providing information on this. The unfortunate thing is that there are still hundreds of items in my store and I'm sure thousands for some that do NOT have certain fields filled in such as size for my listings. I mainly find this in Womens dresses, tops, jeans and pants, same goes for mens wear. Are you able to provide an update to when THIS is supposed to be fixed? Should we just revise all of our listings. Obviously that was be a huge task for larger stores, but leaving us in the dark is no better.

It's not just clothes. All you guys ever talk about is clothes. I sell sports cards and sales are down 27% this month even though I have more stuff listed this month than last month. You keep adding requirements, and most of that info is in the freaking title and category. As it stands right now, I have 2,600+ listings that I will NOT be able to relist without a massive amount of work beyond the massive amount of time I have spent getting this far. You need to turn that requirement **bleep** off. One of the requirements is player name, but you don't even have 90% of players listed, so I have to manually type that in the box when I just typed in the title. Team name? In the title as well. I just signed up for a year long commitment to a store, and I was looking to work my way up to anchor, but now I am back to square 1. Thanks for nothing.

IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET RID OF THE DOGGONE STUPID REQUIRED SPECIFICS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE IT TO WHERE THEY ARE EDITABLE IN BULK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I second the motion, @cobra22nd , and eBay is absolutely clueless regarding sports cards, so it would have behooved them to consult with actual sports card sellers in regard to item specifics. However, as you stated, there is absolutely no good reason to even add additional item specifics to sports cards, let alone make some of them mandatory, so we just need to chalk it up to eBay constantly trying to reinvent a perfectly round wheel and screwing it up royally, as always.

Specifically in the Sports Mem, Cards & Fan Shop > Sports Trading Cards > Auto Racing Cards category, the new mandatory item specifics are...

Sport (which is redundant, because the seller already needs to select this as a sub-category)

Grade (which is mostly irrelevant to racing cards)

Original/Reprint (although not specified what this actually refers to, I personally use it to describe an autographed card, otherwise it is irrelevant to racing cards)

Team (which is irrelevant to racing cards)

Player (which is irrelevant/redundant to racing cards, because there is already a "Driver" item specific in the sub-category, which is not mandatory)

However, I can report as of October 23 @@ 12:30h EST, when using the eBay bulk relisting utility in the Sports Mem, Cards & Fan Shop > Sports Trading Cards > Auto Racing Cards category and following the "Next steps for sellers:For now, you should continue providing all of the required, recommended and additional item specifics as needed." instructions in the latest subject update announcement , it STILL ONLY works with the "Edit listing individually - grouped by category" option and STILL NOT the "Edit listings in bulk" option...

I can report as of October 26 @ 11:45h EST, when using the eBay bulk relisting utility in the Sports Mem, Cards & Fan Shop > Sports Trading Cards > Auto Racing Cards category and following the "Next steps for sellersFor now, you should continue providing all of the required, recommended and additional item specifics as needed." instructions in the latest subject update announcement , it STILL ONLY works with the "Edit listing individually - grouped by category" option and STILL NOT the "Edit listings in bulk" option!!!...

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

Item specifics:

If the answer to the irrelevant IS is not to answer them can you move Garment care, Manufacture county and measurements chest, waist, rise, inseam, length (expressed measured flat or the ability to choose flat or circumference) into Recommended. Scrolling thru pages of additional irrelevant fields to find the few useful ones wastes too much time. Please remember sellers are listing all day and shouldn’t be boggled down sifting thru fields that don’t make sense.

Search issues since update

From desktop: I searched some of my exact titles in google and a few items came up with a direct link to my US listing and others went to International sites like the UK, Austria or Ireland. Perhaps the new “listing site" added in seller hub is creating a glitch. Other searches lead me to ebay search pages which did not yield the right search results or my listings. For example, Free People women’s slim straight jeans size 28 dark wash inseam 33 produced a link to ebay with a search page for Free People low wash 33 inseam jeans for women and did not include my listing.

From the app: I can’t print shipping labels and the estimated delivery date reads Jan 1. In the price section ebay suggests a price and a link to see how other sellers priced it. The price is wrong and the comps do not match my item. But a manual search in sold pulls up the exact dress. Also to be noted is the listing was created from a sold listing yet it still didn’t show it in the comps.  I mention this because price affect score which affects search placement. When selecting items for a new promotion most of my items show 0-5 views.

It’s is upsetting to read in the announcement that visibility has not been impacted when it clearly has been. We are providing examples and reporting drastic changes in sales. It’s worrisome that it will not be fixed if you think there isn’t a problem.

Sorry for long post but I hope you consider these are real issues.

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

I don't get it. The latest update to this item specifics fiasco now says that sellers should go and revive they're old listings. Every update before then said sellers did not have to do anything that the problem would correct itself because eBay would be remapping the old item specifics. What is going on? I'm getting a little tired of eBay saying one thing one day and then another thing the next. at this point I have almost zero confidence that this will ever be fixed without me having to go back and edit 358 that were perfectly fine before eBay screwed them up. I have edited quite a few of them and each time I do I get more listing detail errors than I had before oh, so this is not a fix at all. This is just a fiasco and a solution, a real solution has to be presented by eBay very soon. eBay shouldn't be telling everybody that their listings are still searchable and there are no more issues. That is a complete on truth. Talk to me and all my seller friends about how much are sales are down since the whole promoted listings fiasco. So eBay, what are you going to do to make this situation right for all the sellers who are suffering losses and still being charged fees for stores, relisting fees and insertion fees at a time where nothing is selling.

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

In children's clothing, the season category requires you to choose only one season.  If I have sandals, is that Spring or summer???  If I have a fleece jacket, is that fall or winter???  Why only one season?

I was listing some women's steel toe work shoes.  The only options in women's shoes were boots, or athletic shoes.  Which one would you put safety toe work shoes in?

Why is heel height a required item specific for shoes?  How high are the heels on a pair of sneakers?  If I measure and put 1 3/4" that makes them sound quite high when in reality they are normal sneakers.

I am selling similar on some older listings of mine. When I do about 1 in 5 have a missing photo with an image error. Screenshot 2019-10-26 at 2.16.18 PM.png

Re: Reporting issues related to the ongoing technical issue with Item Specifics

agree

they should allow multiple choices to be made in season

also in occasion, as many clothes are suitable for more than one

multiple choices are available in other specifics, why not here

i think the team is struggling with the current mess but also there were lots of inconsistencies before the new update as well

perhaps they should do a specifics request thread as they would get a lot of good suggestions

eg

when i list a woman’s blouse in tops and shirts, there is no blouse option in style specific....there used to be

there is also no shirt option in style for tops and shirts category, go figure
