The "Recently Viewed Items" Page cannot be cleared. Everytime you clear it, all the items come back. Programmers please fix this!

It's annoying, I know, but in time the software will shake out and you'll be able to clear it. It's been that way the last four or five days ... my list keeps getting longer and longer ... no matter how many times I clear it.

I may have a fix for you...
I posted this same issue a few days ago. I use Chrome and very rarely, IE, with Windows 7. When using Chrome the Recently Viewed items won't stay deleted.
When using Internet Exployer the items stay deleted...
However, the overall speed of loading pages is terrible and that prompts me back to Chrome....
With Chrome...delete your Browsing History and clear all your cookies...
Log out of Chrome then sign back in...
At this point, you should be logged out of Ebay...sign back in to Ebay...
All of my Recently Viewed are gone and after surfing all over Ebay and the internet, they appear to be staying deleted....
Fingers crossed but it's been quite awhile....still remaining deleted as they should....

Well...strike that...
After maybe an hour....they found their way back...ugh!
And as mentioned....the list of items is growing....

Odd. I checked to see if it had stuck for me, and it looked like it hadn't. Showed 47 recently viewed items.
I hit page 2 at the bottom to check to be sure that the old ones I said I had cleared were there, and it came up with the empty page with
"You haven’t viewed any items recently For starters, shop around on our Home Page or check out our Daily Deals"
When I hit F5 and reloaded that page, the 9 or so new things I had looked at since clearing the recently viewed history reappeared.
Almost looks like it actually is clearing the viewed item history, but maybe the page is loading the old disk cached version from the browser cache instead of getting the correct updated data (only new viewed items since clearing the history) from eBay. Some experimentation clearing browser cache and/or using Ctrl-R or Ctrl-F5 to force reload from eBay server may be in order.
Never mind - they are all back again already. Arghhhh. It's a bug.

Yes I have exactly the same problem.
I got guy at Ebay to delete them and they came back, he put it through to technical over 2 weeks ago but they don't
seem to care.
Happened suddenly one day ebay was fine next day total pain. As I get items that I haven't looked at, either Ebay has a serious programming problem or they have been hacked and not letting on.

I'm going to try clearing from the last page. This has been going on for awhile now. It may go a few days and be OK and then it comes back.
I cleared out everything already today and now suddenly I have 96 recently viewed items again. It hovers between 92 and 96 ... some of them are so old I don't even remember looking at them ... ever! LOL

I cleared from the last page and got this
Something went wrong. Please try again.
But it did clear it anyway. Now to see if it actually sticks.

Closed my browser and now when I come back ..
THEY ARE ALL BACK ... 96 of THEM.
I give up. Ebay wins.

I have been having this for days now too. (Firefox) I clear "recent viewed" every time I logoff or log back in. I can surf around (search only output) and look at no individual listing, then boom....there are between 80 and 100 items back in that category. Some of the stuff is things I looked at and bought over a week ago. Ebay seems to just ignore the times we "tell us what you think" and continue this or are just too dumb to fix it. It is reached the point that I have quit telling them, and just clear the category and abort the browser. Same with the missing "hide ebay suggestions" button in the search box....I will neither search nor buy so long as I cannot block ebay suggestions on what to look for!!! It probably accounts for a lot of your lost sales, cause when it happens, I run only "bookmarked" searches from years ago and dont even bother trying to find other stuff!! Ebay just does not seem to understand computers nor care about computers or buyers' preferences at all. Occasionally you will get logged into a server that is not synchronized to this nonsense and the "hide suggestions" is back on searches, and the recently viewed is not quite as bad, but still bad. I spent more that 35 years in I.T. computers field and ebay simply seems to not have a clue how to use them, or they are intentionally antagonizing us with their techniques. You flip the coin to guess which.

Ok, I give up too now.
Listed an item and had 3 more recently viewed listings from researching item. Now it shows I have 58 recently viewed items - 6 more than a few hours ago when I supposedly cleared them all (instead of 3 more if it had cleared none)
It is broken, and there appears to be no workaround.
I asked about this on the Ebay For Business Facebook page 22 hours ago and crickets ... no response from the Ebay team there. They don't seem to be as responsive to addressing issues on the Facebook page as they used to be. They are definitely picking and choosing which things to answer and which to just ignore.
