Today I noticed a welcome email from ebay (someone with the same first name), and let's say my email address is" LarryMoeCurly@gmail.com. "
Someone is using the email" Larry.MoeCurly@gmail.com." Basically same email with a period in it. Gmail ignores periods.
Again not the actual email address, just showing the difference.
These aren't spoof emails (I checked), Valid seller/item I am receiving messages about.
How is this possible? Shouldn't ebay have safeguards against this?

You would think, but...
I once logged in to my account and it wasn't my account - my email/password, but different user name, I could see all their listings, everything.
Still don't know how that is possible to this day, but here we are.

You can go to your Communication Preferences and enter any valid email address you choose to have your eBay messages forwarded to.
