I have never written in the community because I buy pretty regularly on eBay and usually, sometimes after a couple of tries with different extra-nationals, I receive competent, understandable support when I have an issue. I engaged in my usual process of getting in touch with eBay support because there was a problem with shipping last night. I still have not resolved the issue because of what happened when I received my return call. I am getting ready to attempt a second contact as I wanted to wait until the next day. The young woman came on the phone who of course was foreign but I could roughly understand what she was saying and so there was enough communication to get what was needed, done as I figured it, but then there was screaming like an audience watching a fight or a football match or something and I could barely hear her when the audience was screaming loudest and so I asked her what was going on and she simply apologized for the noise and kept on asking me what I needed. Of course I was not going to give her any information because this was the craziest eBay call back episode I've ever had and something I would have never expected. I continued to try to understand what she was saying and she kept on apologizing for the screaming in the background and eventually I just hung up. I'm not sure what's happening but it's something I guess one needs to acclimate to accept since the outsourcing goes to foreign shores instead of the United States of America where the company derives the vast majority of its revenue. I am going to try again right now to see if I can get someone I can hear and understand but I wanted to make note of this experience in case it happens to someone else so they understand they are not the only one. Thank you

That is fairly common in CSR boiler rooms. Sounds like they are all sitting in a big room, with a bunch of telephones, and you can hear many other conversations going on. Although I've never heard it sounding like a party going on.

Some of them are probably still working from home.
And it's not just Ebay.
I called someplace last year and all I could here were kids playing and roosters.

That's fine, erase and take down what I said if it is something you do not want people to hear, I understand. I was simply stating what happened to me last night and it was very very strange. I actually did describe very simply what happened, and I don't use the community, so by all means take it down and erase it and cleanse the dialogue. That's fine, at least one person, you, knows the very strange occurrence that happened last night. I'm not frustrated at all, if you had heard what I heard on the phone last night when I received a call back from ebay customer service, you might have written something as well. But by all means erase it, take it down.

To clarify, this is not eBay. This is a community forum for other buyers and sellers, just like you are. I am not eBay nor do I represent eBay. You can post and rant whatever you feel like, again it's a community forum. I was saying that you obviously have an issue, which is why you called the call center. Those folks are outsourced and not well trained. They also have little access to anything and are merely there to placate folks and for eBay to say they offer phone assistance. So, once again, if you have an issue which you would like some advice on how to resolve, just write what it is. Otherwise post/rant to your hearts content. Best of luck to you....

A cheap call center in the Philippines that all big companies use to save $$$$$. Our telco company has them all over the world and it's very rare to hit a CS person in Canada.
