Went looking for an item that I purchased in the past year in my purchase history and it did not show up. I went to my PayPal account to verify what website I purchased it from and got an order number and invoice number and searched it and it still did not show up. One of the items I found by searching a keyword, but the other one I could not find. I don't remember exactly what I ordered. (or the specific keyword needed to bring up what I _Thought_ I ordered) The only proof I have that I ordered anything is the debit to my PayPal account. I cannot contact customer service online, because it only gives me specific options as to the nature of my inquiry. The autobot chat is not helpful at all. After finding this communication board, I have noticed that this is an ongoing issue. I do not have the ability to call during "normal" working hours.
What is the timeline for fixing this problem?

EBay has about a billion transactions daily.
They purge their records every 90 days or so.
If you want a permanent record of your purchases, print out the invoice when you receive it.
Why do you need this information?
EBay has a Money Back Guarantee, but it is only good for 30 days from delivery.
Paypal has Buyer Protection for 180 days from payment.
You may also be covered by the credit card you back your PP account with, but most chargeback policies are no longer than 180 days.
If you need help with a warranty, warranties are from the manufacturer not the retailer, however, most manufacturers will only honour warranties if the purchase was from an authorized dealer.

"Why do you need this information?"

1. I was not sure exactly when I purchased the item.
2. PayPal does not give me information as to "what" the item was, only that it was purchased on Ebay. Since it did not show up on my EBay history, I thought maybe I was mistaken about where I had ordered it from.
3. I wanted to know how much I had paid for it to determine if it would be more prudent to buy another or fix it if it was not still under warranty or covered in any way.
4. Not everyone has access to a printer or access to any printed receipt at all times of the day or at whatever location they are in.
If, Ebay sells that many items a day, then it should update it's systems to be able to handle the history. (It's called a data/paper trail.) I have history for earlier in the year and history for previous years but just not that month when I purchased this item.
**(Funny, that I can get information about what the Kardishan's had for breakfast a year ago, but can't get information on what I paid hard earned money for several months ago.)
Since I was unable to contact Customer Support, I posted the query here. Thought maybe some nice person might have an answer for me.

Your eBay purchase history should have records of transactions for the current year, or either of the two most recently completed calendar years. Listings sold or ended more than ninety days ago will no longer be viewable as listings, however.
You should be able to download a report from eBay with basic transaction information for older purchases, though it takes a week to generate the report. You must use the link within a week before it expires.

Only basic data is in the report: item name and number, seller username, date, price, shipping. No pictures or descriptions.
If you need copies of listings or invoices, it is possible to print or save them as PDFs at the time of purchase, or to use the "view order details" in your Purchase History before the end of the year two years from the purchase.
You should be able to reach customer support through the Help & Contact page. Use the "Contact us" link, follow the prompts for your issue and then use the chat assistant to request a call back if you are in North America or to request a chat with an agent anywhere.
